Watch out for people spewing rhetoric that escalates. Real leaders contribute to bringing the temperature down and try to prevent more violence. The rest are cynical grifters with something to gain from the chaos.

@PalmerSethu @davidhogg111 Ah, one of those independents that is nobly above the fray, but only flags the transgressions of one side. ICYMI, trump is trying to rig the vote in his favor as much as possible because he knows he’s deeply unpopular. he started this gerrymandering war. Talk to him first.

@watchmannn @davidhogg111 I’m not MAGA I can assure you of that. I detest maga with a passion. I’m a registered independent who believes that gerrymandering, regardless of party, is wrong. Fight back the legal way, not by rigging maps.

And you think the best candidate to beat Valadao is Jasmeet Bains?? The candidate who shares 53 corporate donors with Valadao (including big pharma, who she helps in the assembly), was the only dem to vote against prop 50, and skipped a vote on making ICE agents take their masks off? Proud to back @Villegas_CA22 BECAUSE he can beat Valadao.
Neera Tanden🌻@neeratanden

Rep David Valadao has won multiple hard races, in a very moderate district. The purpose of these primaries is not to win ideological battles within the Democratic party - it is to beat the Republican and take back the House. Please act accordingly.

@PalmerSethu @davidhogg111 my bad. I thought you were a “moderate” Democrat trying to tell us why we should vote for moderate democrats. didn’t realize you were in the maga cult. In that case, I don’t care what you think. Nothing “moderate” about negotiating with terrorists but you’re the goddamn terrorist

@watchmannn @davidhogg111 So what they are doing in Virginia is fair? Rigging the maps to 10-1 and denying millions of citizens equal representation is fair to y’all? I’m against it regardless of whichever party does it. Red or blue we are all Americans. I think people forget that sometimes.

The New York Times is now describing Iran's very normal acts of self-defense - shooting down American jets that are BOMBING THEIR FUCKING COUNTRY - as an "escalation from Iran's leadership." Completely unhinged to publish stuff like this.

A clear example of the horseshoe theory in action: These two people hold very similar views on foreign policy. Both support Russia, China, Iran, and their proxies. One is a far-left streamer, and the other is Trump’s Director of National Intelligence

@Amy_Siskind Feel free to go back to the Republican Party where you can vote for John McCain or Mitt Romney or whoever will advance your pro-war neocon agenda and try to dress it up in socially liberal politics. Your rainbow flag is just lipstick on a pig of genocide apologia.

@watchmannn @BulwarkOnline @Timodc @SarahLongwell25 I admit, the "personal smear" is only an aside to the list Sarah provided. And she was only scratching the surface. All of Hasan's so-called policies, if you can call his complaining that, is anti-democratic and illiberal--so i'm fine with my pettiness. Happy Passover.

"I could think of 1000 other things I would rather Democrats pick fights about now. Like, why him right now?" "Because he's making their life harder." @Timodc and @SarahLongwell25 spar over one of the biggest questions facing Democrats right now: what to do about Hasan Piker?

@JoshEakle lmao, it’s possible to disagree with Hasan that crimea belongs to Russia without him being an extremist. While I support the Ukrainian republic’s claim on it, historically Crimea was about half Russian, even before stalin’s ethnic cleansing of the tatars.

Two ex republicans debating whether Dems should embrace Hasan. There’s a large contingent of ex republicans on cable news who are seen as the representing Democrats. Why are Dems ok with these people representing them but are hesitant to include the left?

This is The Bulwark. We don’t all think one thing! I think Tim is wrong on Hasan Piker, so we hashed it out. Listen to us work through it in a format much more conducive to a productive discussion than Twitter dunks.

We’re officially on the ballot! Thanks to the work of 300 dedicated volunteers, we submitted more than 10,000 petition signatures. I’m deeply grateful for the grassroots support of this team. We’re taking a stand and showing that our district can’t be bought. Onwards to Election Day!

@shannonrwatts sounds like you’re trying to disingenuously reframe a class war as a culture war. you’re just a neocon flying a rainbow flag, trying to distract people with culture war smears to enable the continued looting of working people to pay for war and genocide

It’s disheartening to watch some Democratic politicians and pundits align with the most morally vacant and dangerous people in our party, just as we watched happen on the right for over a decade. Too many Democrats are deciding one compromise at a time that their political survival matters more than principle. Anyone who embraces hatred cannot call themselves progressive; they are simply an emerging version of MAGA on the left. Aligning with and supporting misogynistic, bigoted and racist behavior is a moral stain on our party and a stark warning sign for our future.

@BulwarkOnline @Timodc @SarahLongwell25 does Tim Miller ever have anything good to say about Democrats? He was on MSNBC for over a month whining about Biden stepping out of the race. I saw him giving Karine Jean Pierre a hard time, not letting her answers question. Seems to me he does more harm than he's worth.

@PalmerSethu @davidhogg111 what congressional dems have, occasionally, is leverage. what they don’t do, actually, is work with it. That’s why we’re here now. if you think politics is about something other than effectively fighting for more fairness, then you’ve been had by those that pull the strings

@watchmannn @davidhogg111 Moderate democrats in the senate and house voted with the GOP to open the government in November and let people get paid. Progressives voted against it because it “wasn’t good enough”. Life isn’t fair. Nobody gets everything they want. Work with what you got.

Given that Hasan Piker will (as he demonstrated in 2024) urge his audience not to vote for a Democrat whose politics he doesn't find sufficiently pure, I think regarding him as an ally is foolhardy to say the least.

Democratic senators: It's time to draw a line in the sand. A nominee for Attorney General will soon come before you. Make the confirmation process about releasing ALL of the Epstein files (without redactions) and prosecuting the Epstein class. Trump’s nominee should be pressed hard to commit to those two specific actions. While the administration continues its cover up, Democrats must be relentless in our commitment to pursue truth and accountability. Credit to @RoKhanna for again leading the charge on this. Fight, don't fold.

@davidhogg111 @davidhogg111 really pathetic if you have a closed mindset to different ideologies. The difference between you and common sense moderates is that they are willing to work together and compromise. Progressives don’t take no for an answer which is childish. Very childish.
