This is Dhadho Godhana, the governor of the 5th poorest county in Kenya, Tana River. Despite 67% of the county’s residents languishing in hardcore poverty, the governor budgets 1.5 million for his office pencils and pens. Despite 60,000 residents every year facing starvation due to drought, the governor has a catering budget of 4.8 million for his office. He still utilizes only 3% of the county revenue for development. However, that’s not even what got my attention. Apparently, the governor sat and thought that since he sought for election in an arid county with extreme poverty, he needed a hardship allowance. He earns around 6.7 million shillings in hardship allowance despite the SRC not providing the same for him. His life must be so hard. Njeri wa muthoni opines !!!

Divestiture to be executed through the Block Trade Platform of the Nairobi Securities Exchange. Upfront payment to be made in lieu of future dividends, GOK earmarked to receive Kes 40.2 billion on the residual 20.0% shareholding. There shall be no acquisition related redundancies in Safaricom Plc & the existing business model with Safaricom Plc dealers will be retained for at least 10 years.
