@Westpac We have already raised this with the fraud team, but I am more concerned with why the systems in place did not do a better job of flagging or preventing these large transactions since it's very abnormal to the normal spending that occurs on the account.

@Westpac, my elderly father was defrauded of $6,000 through a gift card scam just a few days ago. I am genuinely perplexed as to why your systems didn't flag or prevent these multiple large transactions from occurring at Coles within such a short timeframe. Make it make sense...

Any @Westpac customers out there been requested to prove Australian identity! I have, and living in the UK it's impossible but they won't acknowledge that. Nor will they tell me why I have to provide the impossible. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Didn't bother to listen so they half closed my acc couldn't purchase online, I liv rural, couldn't do what they wanted using my phone, no PC, they had to mail out the form painful

Oh WOW The Banks are closing in. @westpac now threatening to close my account if I don't present "ID". When I opened the account in 2012 they verified my Passport, Birth Cert, Visa, Marriage Certificate, Work Contract & Drivers Licence. There is no other "ID" available. What the hell is their problem. The Pandemic WAS about screwing us financially, clearly.
