Today I went to my cousins mission homecoming in Salt Lake City’s most famous suburb, Sugarhouse. It was a black-pill to say the least. Growing up, my cousins ward was a lively and vigorous ward that nearly every single person in their neighborhood attended. I remember the chapel during sacrament meeting being filled to the brim with young and old alike. Today, this “ward” is a withering and moribund old folks home where there are hardly any children or youth. Mind you, this is after the ward combined with two other previously existing wards. The most horrifying revelation of all, however, was that this historic chapel I grew up going to when visiting my cousins, built in the early 20th century by our pious, white forebears, is now proudly being auctioned off by our church bureaucrats and leaders to either Muslim or Hindu immigrants. What other church haughtily boasts of its decline in its historic heartland? Is it really “Christlike” for our leaders to give up a beautiful chapel to pagans and Mohammedan invaders, that was built assiduously by devoted LDS members?
