I spent hundreds of hours in front of this place calling out to women who went in to get ab0rti0ns. "Don't kill your baby!" "Your baby is alive!" "The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life!" Most of the time there was no response. Or mocking. Reviling. Or just quiet resignation, "I already did it." Once a man who was waiting in his truck came out from behind the wall, crying. He was balling. He was Hispanic, but apparently had understood enough English to know what I was saying. He told me his wife was inside. I asked if she had gone through with it yet, and told him to call her and have her come out. He did. She actually came outside. I told them where they could get help, resources. They got in their car and followed me to a nearby pregnancy resource center. That story had a happy ending, but for every one of those stories there are dozens, hundreds, or even thousands that don't end up that way. Someone I knew told me about a woman in their apartment complex who was planning on getting an ab0rti0n. I told my contact what they should say to her, and then reached out to my network and asked them to pray. Hundreds of people all over the country prayed for her. The appointment day came around. She went through with it, she took the pills. A few days later we discovered it had been a miracle. The baby had survived!!!! Didn't matter. She was determined to end it, so she went back again, and did. That was that. I've told hundreds of women that, "Your baby is alive," and never once were they surprised to hear that. The most common response I got back was, "I know." Not, "it's a clump of cells," or "it's not a baby yet." Just: "I know." I need you to understand something here. The problem of ab0rti0n in our nation isn't something we *have* to accept, just like we don't *have* to accept illegal immigration, or Iranian nukes, or trans people in our military. People want you to believe there's nothing that can be done, but you need to ignore those people. There's a really simple, direct option, and frankly it's the only option: It's time to treat ab0rti0n like murder for all involved parties, including the mother. Precluding the most culpable party to this act from any kind of legal accountability guarantees that ab0rti0n will continue to be a problem. We don't have to keep doing this.
