Perhaps, the issue is that institutions are not adequately preparing or supporting teachers for the work of teaching. The increasing precarity of teachers exacerbates this problem by creating a high-stakes, low-support environment for teachers.

today I learned: once upon a time (maybe 17th century-ish?), the word "gruntle" meant "to grumble," but it fell out of use someone brought it back in the 20th century as the opposite of "disgruntled" to be "gruntled" is to be cheered up or put in a good mood
