I managed to find the jp version for this Nomura: For example, I often get asked if Tifa and Cloud were in a romantic relationship during the two years leading up to Advent Children, but I don't know. Including DC, his answer is clear now, stop putting words in his mouth.

when Cloud wakes up in Corel, he focuses on Tifa immediately.
His eyes move around but his gaze is centered on her... also in the previous chapter where his eyes track her while he's grandstanding w/Dio.
