ADÉLA writes about her debut arena performance on Instagram “1st arena show doneee i'm gonna use this as a diary entry ab my first experience first of all, i have to get my own critiques out of the way...i've NEVER exeprienced anything like that before, the SOUND is INSANE in an arena and i definitely need to get used to that. I literally could hear myself double, yet barely hearing my own voice all at the same time...i'm hearing the people around me too...my heart rate went sooo far up... the adrenaline was sooo high for the first song i had ZERO control over my own breath or vocals. breath technique in general is something i need to work on...it's hard dancing and singing. BUT all that aside i AM proud of myself because the mic is ON!! and that's why i sound like shit sometimes!! and that's okay, bes that's how u learn!! i'm proud of myself for putting it out there and not giving a fuck, because i could've hidden behind a track, but it would be a disservice to myself and my own potential. the internet can be very ruthless sometimes, especially to people (women) who put themselves out there... however! i am glad that there will be videos of me sounding a mess at my first arena show, bcs one day there will be a whoooole lot of good videos and it'll be a nice reminder of where i started. i know i myself watched EVERY video of beyonce, madonna, ari, gaga, demi, miley etc. that i possibly could've growing up. it's inspiring to see someone's start. i aspire to inspire. 04/13/26 <333”

Beyoncé gave birth to twins after a high-risk pregnancy. She developed toxemia and preeclampsia, had an emergency C-section, and described the delivery as extremely difficult. At one point (in her docu) saying one of her twins’ hearts stopped in the womb. Less than a year later, she had about 8 months to prepare for Coachella. Rehearsals didn’t even fully ramp up until ~115 days before the show, and she was putting in 8–12 hour days while still recovering from major surgery. She lost 100 pounds and then stepped on that stage and delivered THE GREATEST coachella performance of all time. In Homecoming, she made it very clear how physically and mentally intense that process was and that she would never push herself like that again. And yet… look at the contrast. Men can get on stage unprepared, forget lyrics, sit down mid-performance, and it’s framed as “relatable,” “funny,” “he’s healing,” whatever narrative people want to spin that day. But if a woman… especially someone like Beyoncé…showed up anything less than perfect? It wouldn’t be a joke. It would be “she’s washed,” “she doesn’t have it anymore,” “her career is over.” Women in entertainment are expected to be superhuman AT ALL TIMES, even after literally risking their lives to give birth. Meanwhile, men are allowed to be mediocre in public and still be protected by the narrative. Men should be stoned. The double standard is exhausting and it’s time we start being honest.
