along with intel's new hardware they have released "Intel® Binary Optimization Tool". its being marketed as a way to enhance perf for gaming. They have profiled a bunch of games and with that info do profile-guided DBI basic block order rewriting to increase IPC. pretty wild.

im starting to fall back in love with IDA ... with 9.2's microcode viewer and now especially 9.3's ability to interactively manipulate the microcode !!! along with being able to render microcode flow graphs with use/def chains, i feel in conflict. aaaaaa :)

@mrexodia Not sure it still works (not IDA user anymore) but you could hold ctrl+shift and click on the [x] window close to skip that window if you don’t intend on saving db.

@halvarflake what was the security like on those kind of things, was it some sdk checks added by customers? or more tightly integrated with a packer auth stage, and post oep binding? ive always been fascinated by security between software and hardware, CDs were more accessible to play with :)

I was reading some old PC mags and came across these adverts. does anyone remember these hasp dongle thingies? maybe @halvarflake I remember they were often talked about in RE forums in the late 90s but I never encountered such a device myself so never got to play with them

Built my dream DOS and early win95 machine. Hardware Roland MT32 sound emulation and a 3DFX Voodoo 2 card 🤓😎P233MMX 32mb ram.

@bjornsallarp dont encourage me :), its expensive and hard enough to find such cards, im happy with one for now, but yeah damn SLI would be awesome (-:
