He said Nigerian leadership was filled with people who only seek personal gain. Said we were “a different people playing to a different set of rules.” Said our tribal loyalty was greater than our national loyalty, and we’re a society without meritocracy This was 1966, by the way. You could still say the same thing in 2026.

I once went down into a rabbit hole of how Singapore turned their economy around to becoming one of the world superpower, and I came across how Nigeria was instrumental to that development. How you may ask? When Lee Kuan Yew visited Nigeria and saw how we were criminally..

Two Irishmen with no oil or gas experience. Got a Nigerian gas contract in 2010. Built nothing. Then sued Nigeria for breaking the deal. Won $6.6 billion in a secret London court. Interest was adding $1.3 million every single day. Total bill hit $11 billion. That is 10 times Nigeria’s health budget. The woman who signed the contract on Nigeria’s behalf? She was promised a cut of the $11 billion. Not one Nigerian official in jail. Omo 💔😭 🇳🇬

RCCG’s Redemption camp has had Unlimited Electricity supply since 2012. I mean Like 24 hours electricity because they produced their own electricity. The people that have properties in that camp/town enjoy 24 hours supply If you like allow Incompetent politicians gaslight you.

The gateman in my compound is paid 30,000 Naira a month. For that amount, he is expected to man the gate, wash cars, clean the compound, and pump water. When I moved in, I found this arrangement absolutely ridiculous. He recently had a confrontation with a tenant’s wife who demanded to know why her car hadn’t been washed. When he calmly explained that washing cars wasn't part of his original job description, she flared up. I have advocated for an upward review of his salary several times, but the other tenants have consistently opposed it. The irony is incredible. We condescendingly call these men "common gatemen," underpay them, and still expect optimal performance at all times. Yet, the moment that "common gateman" isn't there to do the work, we suddenly realize how tedious and essential those jobs actually are. We need to start treating these people with the dignity they deserve. We shouldn't just appreciate them because they make our lives easier—we should do it because, technically, our safety is in their hands.
ARÁKÙNRIN ÌYÈLỌLÁ 👷🏡@IyelolaIge

For the first time in 2 years, our compound gate man travelled. Just two days. And everywhere has scattered. Normally the man does everything. Open gate. Pump water. Fuel the generator. Wash cars. We didn’t even realize how much work he was doing until he left. Yesterday morning, water finished from the tank. Everybody came outside looking confused. Nobody even knew where the water switch is. Later we contributed money to buy fuel for the generator. Then someone asked, “Who will go and buy the fuel?” Silence. Nobody moved. Last night I came back home without my key. I knocked and banged the gate for almost 45 minutes. Nobody opened. This morning I even had to wash my own car. First time in years. Then the waste disposal people came. Nobody attended to them. They just dropped the waste and left. Omo… Only two days without our gate man and this compound has completely lost direction. It’s going to be a very long week for all of us.

When you get profiled at the airport in a foreign country because of your Nigerian passport, you understand that not all Nigerians are criminals and the concept of all Nigerians are potential criminals is wrong. When a company abroad refuses you a job because you’re from Nigeria, you understand that not all Nigerians are bad, and it’s wrong to pin the actions of a few on the rest. When police stereotype people based on how they dress, you see why generalizing a profile is unjust. Now, when people resist the “all men are rapists” narrative and you get upset, respectfully, you’re behaving like a wild animal.

The entire gang-up against @ogheneovie_o is so ridiculous. You can't bully people for having an opinion. It's sick that most of you are on that lane (bullies). Everyone will be alright eventually.

Everyone is asking why he bothered to make her his fiancée if he knew she had a tendency to dress like this. Naturally, it’s because he thought he had guardrails in place that would make her behave differently once they were engaged. Everything was going fine until he saw that one picture and panicked… literally. Not panic like a human, but panic like a Rust-safe program. But what is a panic? A panic is a runtime error that occurs when a program reaches a state it considers unsafe or unrecoverable and crashes itself. Panic goes hand in hand with error handling, this is where a programmer tries to implement the necessary guardrails to handle unforeseen conditions. However, programmers are human too and cannot always predict every variable and edge case at runtime. When one of those unguarded edge cases occurs, the program panics, clears the memory and stack, and safely exits instead of continuing to run in an unsafe environment.

My sister and I went out together earlier today. She took some photos during the outing and posted them on her WhatsApp status. Less than 5 minutes later, her fiancé started calling her angrily, asking why she would go out dressed like a prost!tute. My sister hung up on him. When she tried calling him back later, he had already bl0cked her and sent a message telling her not to come back to his place. Was there really anything wrong or bäd with her outing and the way she was dressed? Or is his reaction completely out of line?

Also, I don’t care that Nigerian men feel attacked by generalizations. That’s the point of it. I want you all to feel collective shame. If you feel embarrassed enough by being seen as a rapist and misogynist, you’ll start treating the fuck ups of your fellow men,

I spent 4 years paying my younger sister’s school fees. Every single kobo. The day she graduated, she gave the acknowledgement speech and thanked everyone except me. I sat in that hall and felt my soul leave my body 😭. When she got admission, things were tight at home. I had just started my first job. I told our parents, "Don't worry. I’ll handle it." And I did. Every semester. No breaks. There were months I was eating 0-1-0 so her account wouldn't run dry. I never told her. I didn't think I needed to. Graduation day, she looked beautiful. The first graduate in our family. I was prouder of her than I’ve ever been of myself. Then she got the mic. > She thanked God. (Fair). > She thanked our parents. (Expected). > She thanked her friends who kept her sane. > She even thanked her HOD. Then she sat down. My mother looked at me. I smiled and looked away, but the clapping felt like it was happening in a different room. I didn’t say anything that day. Or the week after. But something in how I moved changed. I stopped volunteering. Started waiting to be asked. Started noticing who actually noticed me. People say, "Don’t give to be recognized." I agree to an extent. But there is a thin line between not needing applause and being erased by the person you bled for. That's not humility. That's invisibility. We’re fine now. I brought it up six months later, calmly. She cried, and said she was nervous and blanked. Maybe. Maybe not 🤷 But I learned something either way. Sacrifice without communication creates invisible resentment. Tell people what you are carrying for them. Not to guilt trip them. But because silence makes martyrs, and martyrs make bitter people. This same dynamic shows up in dating every day. You’re playing the provider or the supporter in silence, while your partner thinks you're just an oil money that never runs dry. Stop accepting the bare minimum of gratitude. If they don't see the sacrifice, they won't value the person making it. Has someone ever made you feel invisible in a relationship after everything you did for them? Let’s talk below.👇

MDCN is so funny to me. You tell doctors who just started their careers to stay and practice and what you show them immediately is a system that owes salaries. One would think these days where 1 person is doing the work of 4 colleagues, you would attract them with some….

Bought 25k fuel and it read 20 litres. This would cost 3,600 on the morning PBAT was fraudulently sworn in as the president of Nigeria. Fuel price increased by about 594% between then and now. But let’s relax, he’s fixing it. Genuinely gpu
