The most terrifying part of Obsession isn’t the obsessive girlfriend trope. It’s Bear the “nice guy” who feels so entitled to a woman he desires that he’s willing to strip away her autonomy just to have her.

First look at Sadie Sink in ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’. (via: @kepleravocado)

If Ian hadn’t been an arrogant, condescending jerk to Bear in the parking lot after the bar in #obsession , the curse would have never happened. Bear was visibly breaking down, and instead of giving his friend a ride or showing a shred of basic human empathy, Ian literally laughed in his face, flaunted his relationship with Nikki, and left Bear stranded in the dark. Ian's toxic, alpha-male ego is what pushed Bear into the hands of the antique vendor in the first place. Ian practically handed Bear the weapon that ended up destroying all of their lives #Obsession #ian #bear #nikki

Obsession was extremely popular because it fufills the female notion that every lonely mid guy is secretly a rapist monster and deserves to be miserable and alone. It would have been a nothing movie if the genders were swapped. Conversely if the rapist monster had been 6'3, extremely attractive, and a millionare, it would have also been a wild hit with women.

The most haunting scene of Obsession.

OBSESSION is officially getting a sequel, Curry Barker has just confirmed to @THR.
