and the second part confuses the hell out of me because the same writers put jinora and kai together… the writers just did not fuck with toph and aang romantically. like not even the zk writers came out and said that they ever saw them together as an option.

toph would’ve still been kissed without her consent and the aftermath of the kiss would’ve been the same bc *male writers* who wrote this scene dgaf about consent. that’s why we see tons of noncon kisses in both atla and tlok, most of them played for giggles.

@yurichaela “Fire Lady” SOUNDS cool so they assume it’s a big position of power the same way Fire and Water sounds cool so they assume that it was significant here. They tend to literally ignore EVERYTHING in canon that contradicts their ideas.

ultimately i think the discourse surrounding katara’s career comes down to the glorification of monarchy. because why is katara, who’s leading the highest branch of government in the world’s capital, a place that SHE co-founded and established, still getting called a tradwife?

@yurichaela the fire lady has about the same importance of the empress of japan, primary objective is to have children and be mother of the nation and thus submissive to their spouse with a minor influence in governance.
