A car smashed into shop in Catford/Hither Green last night. Pedestrians could have been killed. When will we have safe spaces for walking in @LewishamCouncil?

Anywhere that doesn't have physical blocks in place just becomes another lane for London's drivers, doesn't it? We've been telling @Brenda_Dacres and @LouiseKrupski about this problem on Sangley Road until we're blue in the face and yet it's allowed to go on and on.

@JAlaszewski @LouiseKrupski Asthma rates have increased in the whole of the UK due to increased urbanisation. The South Circular brings much unwanted pollution to my door. Woukd be glad to see it shut for all but necessary journeys. Bring on more LTNs.

@7VEN @LouiseKrupski Council data shows asthma has increased borough wide post-LTN so are the LTN stats are inaccurate/ cherry picked or there an issue with the borough-wide PCT’s asthma stats? Both things can’t be true.

Yesterday, the police moved away from educating drivers on the speed limit and began issuing Notices Of Intended Prosecution. Outcome: 50 drivers were caught exceeding the 20mph speed limit over a short period in Hither Green West. Thanks you @MPSLewisham 🙏👍🏻

@PaulHowarthUK Enforcing a pointlessly low speed limit implemented for political reasons. I doubt the cops could prove any meaningful element of danger. Are the kids being educated to behave safely or is it drivers being scapegoated?

@PaulHowarthUK @BT From my experience with Lewisham phone boxes, they're most commonly used for urination or a toot on the crack pipe. I've never seen anyone actually making a call in them.

Just metres from @LewishamCouncil offices a family with pram is forced to walk into a busy road to get around pavement parking. We need enforcement on Sangley & Sandhurst Road, @LouiseKrupski & @damienegan. Just 2 tickets were issued on Sandhurst last year. @YPLAC

@LouiseKrupski Are you sure you don't mean 'Glyphosate May' ? It's like scorched earth everywhere in Catford / Hither Green currently such is the ammount of weedkiller that's been used. Are you able to use your influence to ban it?

You’ll be seeing some signs around #Lewisham soon on uncut areas explaining what we are doing. Every small patch of land left undisturbed at this time of year makes huge difference to insect & bird populations. Pls post your own wild areas to encourage others to get involved.

We think Deptford Church Street should look like this too, connecting Deptford Broadway to Cycleway 4, Cycleway 10 and west towards Central London.
