Avoid 3 common mistakes when paying on Pay.gov #3: Avoid PayPal/Venmo for passport fee payments! These platforms can take up to 5 days to confirm payment. If payment hasn’t cleared, your application cannot be processed! Use a credit or debit card on Pay.gov for faster confirmation. #PassportRenewal #PassportTips

We've seen many applicants make errors when paying online for a #USPassport —here's how to avoid them. Avoid 3 common mistakes when paying on Pay.gov #1: Pay only what's on your checklist. • Don't pay expedite fees when you apply overseas, even if you need your passport urgently. • Don't pay an additional Passport Card fee if you need a Passport Book only. • No-fee/Official passport holders: Pay only $130 for a first-time adult tourist passport or its renewal. Double-check your fee at jp.usembassy.gov/services/fees/ #PassportTips

Reminder! Do NOT use AI or digital editing tools on your passport photo. We will not accept photos that are edited or filtered. Your photo should be recent (taken in the past six months) and look like you (the TSA or CBP agent must be able to tell it’s you!). Submitting a digitally enhanced photo will significantly delay your application. Learn more about passport photo requirements at travel.state.gov/photo
