Just when I started to be proud of the progress in our industry and started praising Solana for the fundamentally incredible things that are happening there with tokenized stocks, exotic RWAs etc, they start desperately competing for stupid memecoin market share on other chains. Ladies and gentlemen, I got bad news for you: the moment where you will make more money faster with actual value creation over casino pump and dumps will never ever come. But the even worse news for you is that if we don't FINALLY start growing up and choosing sustainability over a quick buck, there soon won't be any money left to be made anymore. The most valuable asset we have in our industry is serious builders and brilliant talent, and I can assure you, this is how we scare them away.

infofi was something special. for the first time creators didn’t need a massive following to actually make real money. follower count stopped mattering. the information mattered. it also created genuine web3 job opportunities for a lot of people who otherwise wouldn’t have had them. but it also attracted something else. low effort slop people trying to game the system. so infofi was 2/3 good and 1/3 bad. but it proved something important. every cycle a big meta shows up that makes real people win. and when it does. the ones who see it early and play it right can actually change their life. we’re waiting for the next one.

In hindsight people really did InfoFi dirty. Random five- to six-figure airdrops with transparent leaderboards, you basically knew that if you lock in you can farm good rewards. Nowadays that's gone and the same people that criticized InfoFi are tweeting about the Ansem coin for a fraction of (not even guaranteed) rewards. Towards the late stage of InfoFi the platforms fumbled and the projects themselves got worse but the few good drops (Berachain, Anime, most recently Solstice) made it all worth it imo
