And the only reason Brentford/Bournemouth can attract those players is because they want to eventually be signed by clubs like Chelsea, for the wages. It’s so simple

@OlIyCFC Then talk about Chelsea’s transfer activity rather than Brentford’s. You’ve enjoyed winning all those trophies. The Champions Leagues, the Premier Leagues, the cups. You’ve enjoyed your hegemony at the top of European football. This is the price you pay. Your club did this.

@OlIyCFC No it is a good point, because it’s meant to illustrate that you’re the problem. Nobody else. And why would a player like El Mala choose to come here to Brentford rather than Milan? Because again, it makes it more likely that a club like you will buy him eventually.

A common response to this tweet seems to think I’m complaining about the competitive balance in England, despite clearly stating it’s about European football. I don’t care about the gap between Chelsea and Brentford, I do care that historic European clubs are comparatively broke
