#SummerReading Day 9: Mapmaking with Children, by David Sobel. This classic introduces the tools for creating maps with young learners that spans across disciplines!

#SummerReading Day 8: Drawing Out Learning With Thinking Maps, by Shelly Counsell & David Hyerle, covers engaging ways that early childhood teachers might assess their youngest learners across content areas.

#SummerReading Day 7: Learning to Read: The Great Debate, by Jeanne Chall. This 1967 milestone paved the way for Chall's legendary and influential career at @hgse, highlighting the urgency of strong literacy instruction for all. An oldie but a goodie!

#SummerReading Day 6: Science Notebooks: Writing About Inquiry, by Lori Fulton and Brian Campbell. Science is all about observing phenomena and making inquires into the world outside the classroom, and these authors help bring this to life!

#SummerReading Day 5: The Curious Classroom, by Harvey Daniels (@smokeylit). Thanks to @DrPTJenkins for this excellent recommendation about implementing structures in the classroom to aid students' natural inquiries and engage across content areas!

#SummerReading Day 4: How Learning Works, by Susan A. Ambrose. This recommendation comes from @MirandaMarques1 of the @NwSouth_BX. Ambrose's book blends educational psychology and cognitive science to share useful practices across subjects and grade levels!

#SummerReading Day 3: Understanding by Design, by Grant Wiggins & @jaymctighe. This evergreen text covers the fundamental why and how of carefully planned, backwards-designed instructional units. A must read (or re-read) for all!
