This is an absolute scandal. Serbian football team Crvena Zvezda has been fined €95,500 after fans choreographed a motif of Jesus Christ! UEFA fined them for "displaying a message not fit for a sporting event and bringing the reputation of football and UEFA itself into disrepute". The image was a traditional Orthodox tifo of Jesus Christ or Saint Simeone the Myrrh-flowing, while the text underneath read: “May our faith lead you to victory". UEFA has stopped games for Ramadan and openly promoted BLM and LGBT campaigns during tournaments. But Christianity is ‘inappropriate’?! What an utter disgrace.

I was happy to accept the explanation for why Sterling got penalised last week, but not sure why it’s not applied today? No intent, natural position, no opportunity to get it out the way, blocks a shot heading toward goal. Whats the difference?

I agree the Trusty handball ISN’T a penalty but we all got told • If it’s a shot on target • It could be going in • It hits a hand • Accidental or not It’s a PENALTY same as last week with Sterling, it ticks all the same boxes Only difference is the one with Sterling had a closer distance between the shot and the hanball Neither player can get their hand out the way, it’s impossible to react that quickly But if you’re saying a shot on target coming off a hand is a foul then they’re both the same

Watched the game back and was in disbelief at the time but even more so the second time around. A free-kick in the last minute of the game, in a good area to overload the box from and it was played short? With seconds left?!
