After seeing the negativity towards SME Segment. Here’s some interesting things should be considered before giving any judgement 1. Unrealistic Compliance Expectations : Expecting 100% compliance with best practices from SMEs is not a practical approach. Even large companies with market caps over ₹20,000 crores have occasional irregularities. Minor issues in SMEs should be overlooked until they reach a market cap of at least ₹1,000 crores. 2. Bias Towards Negative News : There is a stronger inclination to believe and focus on negative news rather than positive developments. This mindset needs to shift. 3. Unfair Treatment of Approved SMEs : In the case of the "Yamaha Showroom Dealer," criticism was misplaced. The entity met all SEBI and stock exchange criteria. Was the dealer really at fault? 4. Clearer Listing Criteria : If small entities like showroom dealers should not be listed, exchanges should provide clearer, more stringent minimum listing criteria. 5. SMEs are the Backbone of the Economy : SMEs are crucial to the nation's economic fabric. Instead of criticizing their small setbacks, we should offer support and guidance. 6. The Growth Journey : Remember that giants like Reliance and Infosys started as SMEs. The journey from SME to mid-cap status takes time. Patience is key, and many of today’s SMEs will eventually grow into mid-cap companies. SME is like your child, who needs support or encouragement, not criticism. Believe me, it’s your future !!!
