Lonzo Ball DEFENDS his brother LaMelo and says there was no need for personal attacks after Nick Wright called him a “clown” that acts like an “immature coddled teenager” due to LaMelo tripping Bam Adebayo during the play-in game 😮👀 “Nick Wright don’t play… Somebody’s giving him stuff to say to get clicks… He was attacking stuff that has nothing to do with hoops, that’s not your job”

@virgil44_ @mpike0244 @ItsKingSlime It’s more than accidents. He’s nearly hit people, is constantly speeding. Like he’s actually well known to be a menace when driving around Charlotte, this story didn’t come from nowhere.

@AugustSolstice @ItsKingSlime People calling him a "clown" arent associated with or around Lamelo or the Hornets to even know what theyre talking about. Everybody around the Hornets says the exact opposite but the dumbass national media that watch two games a year make their own bs narrative

@HozackJeff22 @Shybazzz @Tuff__Crowd I mean I have a literal friend who went through it lol. Who’s talented af. Athletic as FUCK. And Chauncey Billups and his Politics completely sent bros career down the drain. For me to say 90% could be too much. But the politics play a much greater role then you think fam.

Playing 1v1 against someone who never made it to the NBA is a waste of time. It’s not real basketball

@fuukattino Yep. Book is probably best as a guy who doesn’t constantly have the ball in his hands. I think he’s a very good secondary playmaker but if you’re depending on him to run the offense… I think that the best version of Booker that I’ve seen was in the Olympics tbh.

think there's a couple of factors toward his "regression" - lower body injuries has cooked his burst a bit he doesn't get into stride or explode off the catch like he used to - his shotmaking all over the floor especially the PU3 has not only stagnated but regressed
Pranav Sriraman@PranavSriraman

Not a team in the league should want to trade for Devin Booker. He’s gonna be 30, has somehow gotten worse (or the league left him behind), and he’s on the most expensive contract in the NBA.

@Riles23 @Tucci_Bandana @NBACouchside Which is unfortunate, these are incredibly talented hoopers and I wish the people surrounding the sport covered it with the respect it deserves.

@AugustSolstice @Tucci_Bandana @NBACouchside it doesnt seem to be, that is the actual make up of the media except a few national journalists. A big chunk of the media and the fanbase would be happier if it was Real Housewives of the WNBA instead of an actual sports league.

@Tucci_Bandana @NBACouchside The biggest issue with W journalism/coverage is that it seems to be mostly be content creators without a real journalism or even basketball background. Deadass watched several not understand the concept of a PnR this past season.

@Betsycashmoney And no disrespect to Ward, fantastic college football career, but someone like Gates played 0 college football then proceeded to go to the HOF in the NFL. Charlie was a serviceable guard in the NBA with no individual accolades as far as I know.

I don't get why people think Charlie Ward is a counter-example here...? Ward was a LEGIT basketball player. He wasnt some football player who said "Hmmm, basketball looks easy, maybe I'll try out for the NBA!" He was a 4yr starter at FSU. Literally took his team to the Elite 8.
Betsey@Betsycashmoney

If NFL players could play in the NBA, they would. They'd make more money, they'd have better job security, they'd have guaranteed deals, they'd have longer careers & FAR better post-career/longterm health & life outcomes. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but that's reality.

To address all the messages and comments: If you're a pre-teen and only good because of advanced physical traits (height or body type, or hops) that often hinders long-term ball development. That's obvious. If you're good and it's not because of great genetics, there's still a lot of mental traps you need to hurdle, including falling out of love with the grind, vultures coming around and taking you off track, and, honestly, it's easier to chase someone down than it is to be the one being chased. Now, don't get me wrong, better to be great young than never great! But, this hoop thing is a marathon and, ultimately, the only thing that matters is who is on top going into college, going into the league, and every year in the league. The rest is just stories to tell your kids and grandkids. Anyway, love reading all your takes, whether they agree or disagree with me. Appreciate these convos!
Michael Redd@MichaelRedd_

Hear me out: Being good young is almost always a curse.

@KBTrumpKamala @Dee_swervooo @mldiffley @DougsDogs101 Go back and read this thread and tell me where that’s even implied. Matt was saying that he’s nowhere near a college basketball PLAYER in terms of SKILL, not that he’s less than them in terms of athleticism.
