@wil_da_beast630 The problem with this is that when men sexually objectify they see the woman as having less mental agency and moral status. Its not simple forgetting that shes good at mathematics,

Good summary. But, literally all this means is that sexually aroused people feel very attracted to specific opposite-sex members, and temporarily see them - partly or primarily - in terms of their role as potential sex partner. I.e., you would think less about your girlfriend's mathematical abilities if she were naked, visibly excited, and on all fours in front of you. "Objectification," etc. are either 90% or entirely nonsense terms, created to provide pejorative woke descriptions of healthy natural processes. "Turned on" summarizes the same feeling much better.
Rolf Degen@DegenRolf

Men's tendency to view women as sex objects is plain and simple fueled by sexual arousal and "is not merely the domain of a pathological few." Sexual objectification refers to the process whereby an individual is reduced to their sexual function, neglecting mental characteristics. Yet little is known about the proximal mechanisms that lead men to objectify women. In the present research, we introduced and found support for the Arousal Hypothesis of Sexual Objectification, which posits that, beyond dispositional traits (e.g. personality), temporary states of sexual arousal increase the sexual objectification of women. Across four experiments (N = 675), we found consistent evidence that heightened sexual arousal increases sexual objectification in men. In Experiment 1, sexually aroused men showed a greater preference for women’s sexual physical attributes (e.g. curvy, sexy) over psychological attributes (e.g. empathy, intelligence), Across all studies, neither personality traits (Dark Triad, Social Dominance Orientation, Sociosexual Orientation) nor relationship status moderated the arousal-objectification link.. Taken together, these findings indicate that sexual arousal contributes uniquely to state sexual objectification, above and beyond individual differences. The present findings suggest that a state-level, arousal-driven process can produce sexual objectification independent of power motives, Sexual objectification is often viewed through the lens of power and personality. However, the present research demonstrates that temporary states, particularly sexual arousal, can independently increase the objectification of women, even among men low in antisocial traits (e.g., Dark Triad traits) or high in empathy. This finding suggests that objectification is not merely the domain of a pathological few, but a broader tendency that emerges in response to mating-relevant cues.

@DameandGiannis @LatrellCurtis10 @unfollowkjen @DougsDogs101 @mldiffley vertical jump is the one test that both leagues directly measures, and has solid predictive ability for overall athleticism. And I agree dysons is probably better. His agility tests were elite and myles opted out of agility testing, which may mean he didnt expect an elite time

@KBTrumpKamala @LatrellCurtis10 @unfollowkjen @DougsDogs101 @mldiffley Congrats, you factored in one singular measurement of athleticism, and only used PGs and SGs. Vertical once again is probably the 9th or 10th most important athletic trait. Coordination is far more important and it’s clear NBA players are more fluid and coordinated if you watch

@Ayebradda @Coach_HugginsII By going "the football route" I meant high school football->college->NFL. Genetically speaking he would easily be a first round prospect

@LatrellCurtis10 @KBTrumpKamala @unfollowkjen @DougsDogs101 @mldiffley 6’4 and that’s an extreme outlier, that’s like using Giannis or Lebron as an example lmao. Russ is 6’3 and has all world athleticism. Nfl players have straight line speed and strength but they lack a lot of the other athleticisms nba players posses like agility and coordination

@JoeVarga128 @gcochran99 @janecoaston A pro male team obviously the U15 loses but thats a PRO team, and pros arent average males. Average males get destroyed by the U15 kids and the pro women

@KBTrumpKamala @gcochran99 @janecoaston Nope what? A men's professional team wouldn't destroy a team of U15 year old boys? or U15 year old local boys team wouldn't easily defeat a women's adult national team, they are both demonstrably true, particularly since the later has happened in 3 different countries.

prime example of Stolen Penis Valor: men hear "men are faster/stronger than women" and conclude that means they, guy at bar, are faster/stronger than all women, ever. Are men who are track athletes faster than female track athletes? Sure. Are you a track athletes? Probably not!
rachel@rachellynneb

@janecoaston One of my best friends from college is far from a world-class sprinter— NAIA All-American. Substantially better than average, sure, but nothing crazy. Would mention she was a sprinter at bars and routinely got challenged by drunk guys to race. We won a lot of free drinks.

@KBTrumpKamala @unfollowkjen @DougsDogs101 @LatrellCurtis10 @mldiffley Wait until you find out a vertical is probably the 9th most important “athletic” trait in an NBA or NFL player lol. And being bigger and taller and that athletic is definitely more impressive. DK Metcalf gets called this all world athlete because he’s 6’4, he’s just Lu Dort.

@unfollowkjen @DougsDogs101 @LatrellCurtis10 @KBTrumpKamala @mldiffley Run fast, jump high, lift heavy means nothing in the NBA, your lateral quickness and quickness in general are all far more important. NBA has the best athletes on the planet and it’s not close. Most NFL guys aren’t tall enough to be NBA players or coordinated enough.

@tommyreamon What are those, 5-8, 185 corner was just drafted to NFL, Cowboys drafted a 5’6” running back a few years ago. I get what you saying, but you have to have heart and football knowledge. Not everyone fits in a box.

I don’t care how bad you want to play college football… There are baseline traits & measurables that have to be there: Size. Speed. Strength. Athleticism. Etc Without that, it’s not a plan… it’s a wish.

@KBTrumpKamala @Dee_swervooo @mldiffley @DougsDogs101 Go back and read this thread and tell me where that’s even implied. Matt was saying that he’s nowhere near a college basketball PLAYER in terms of SKILL, not that he’s less than them in terms of athleticism.

@unfollowkjen @mldiffley @DougsDogs101 I agree, they just arent tall/long enough. Even with that vert, hes gonna have to be extremely skilled as a shooter and ball handler to succeed in the NBA. hes the same height as devin booker for example.
