I’ve had a lot of private DMs about this over the last week. For the record, this is what southern baptists have ALWAYS believed. They think women are second class citizens, plain and simple. They’ll try to spin this with a made up American doctrine unique to fringe evangelical sects called “complementarianism” where they claim women have separate but equal gifts - the only thing is women’s “gifts” just so happen to give them no authority, power, or public prominence and instead revolve around women being subservient to others. Convenient. While I have relatives associated with this sect I have had nothing to do with the denomination since college and have long since disavowed them for this reason and many others. Personally, having grown up in this sect it’s shocking to me how many people seem shocked they hold these views. This is not new and while I find it abhorrent I’m glad it’s being laid bare and more people are realizing what this organization actually is.

I'm pro-life. I understand some women are in tough circumstances. I understand pregnancy can be hard and birth can be scary. I understand parenting is difficult and your lifestyle will change. I just don't think any of these things are good enough reasons to end the life of an unborn baby 🤷🏽‍♀️
