🚨 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪: If Atletico Madrid reach the Champions League final, they’ll have a major headache with their Metropolitano stadium. Normally, they would install massive screens and a fan zone for their supporters to watch the game live at their home stadium. However, there is a Bad Bunny concert scheduled for that night at the Metropolitano. It's the 1st of his 10 concerts in Madrid. This already happened 10 years ago, when Paul McCartney had a concert at the Vicente Calderón during the 2016 Champions League final. Atletico had to rent out another stadium for their fans back then, and they may be forced to do so this year again.

I never thought I'd be saying this but I genuinely think it's time to retire cheese and onion crisps. No one eats them any more, a flavour from a bygone era. Time for another combo to enter the variety bag elite.

I have updated the sequence of events on Mandelson's appointment. It's worse than I thought. Here's why. 1. UKSV vet Mandelson, they collate a vetting file, and fail him. The vetting file is confidential and is NEVER shared with anyone except the Security Services. 2. The Propriety and Ethics Team in the Cabinet Office (PET) conduct a due diligence process and produce a report. [See link] The PET report uses mostly open-source information, and it is not as rigorous as the UKSV formal vetting process. It is NOT vetting by any means. 3. The FCDO *DO NOT* take part in the PET process! 4. FCDO have the UKSV decision (as allowed by the process) to overrule UKSV. [This sets a process in train...] 5. UKSV will inform the Security Services based on the evidence in the vetting file. This is HIGHLY confidential, no-one except UKSV or the Security Services can see it. ***Remember this - it is VERY important.*** 5. FCDO grant DV clearance to Mandelson. ***Olly Robbins IS NOT IN POST*** The FCDO might have the PET report. The FCDO have the UKSV vetting fail result. The FCDO will not have the UKSV vetting file, that is standard practice. 6. FCDO inform Starmer (as this is his political appointment) that they have cleared Mandelson. We know Starmer has the PET 'due diligence'. Again, Olly Robbins is not in post. ***Remember this - it is very important*** 7. Starmer asks some questions using the PET report, being a lawyer and all that 🙄 He will know the nature of the PET report, its lack of rigour, and he knows the UKSV DV process. It is not vetting by any means. It is inconceivable he does not ask Mandelson if he passed UKSV vetting. 8. Starmer appoints Mandelson as US Ambassador. These are the facts, and this is the process. Look it up, Grok it to validate if you need to. [HOWEVER....] 8. The UKSV have passed the vetting file to the Security Services, bearing in mind who this is, AND, the importance of the role of US Ambassador, it's not unreasonable to think they investigate further. 9. The US are told, and they would also vet Peter Mandelson. This is standard practice for access to US government documents. 10. Later, we know the US published evidence about Mandelson's involvement with Epstein. In this, Mandelson shared UK state secrets. This is information (formerly secret) that would result in him failing US vetting. 11. The UK Security Service with the UKSV vetting file are also investigating Mandelson. 12. Cue a huge mess - Mandelson resigns, and is interviewed under caution. So: a) the UKSV vetting failure is HUGELY important, this is the only information that the FCDO have, and very little else on Mandelson's vetting. The FCDO do not contribute to the PET report. b) the PET reports no objection to Mandelson taking up the role. c) Bearing in mind, Labour are mired in one scandal after another. It is inconceivable that FCDO did not share the UKSV result to Starmer. d) David Maddox reported in the Independent months ago that Mandelson failed UKSV vetting from Security Services source (remember the UKSV have to pass on their vetting file if they were over-ruled). e) The US vetted Mandelson independently. No doubt, the US shared their findings on Mandelson with the UK Security Services and FCDO. Any strong objections would have to be reported to the PM. Later, they published the Epstein papers showing Mandelson passed on State secrets. f) The Security Services have the UKSV vetting file and they were investigating. Again, inconceivable they would not inform the PM of a potential security risk. It is beyond incredible that Starmer did not know until a few days ago. he is lying. New information here, look at the Annex of the letter. committees.parliament.uk/committee/78/f….

Breaking: No10 have published documents they believe proves their version of events. It includes emails between officials/spads following the Tuesday night meeting where the PM and his aides were made aware Mandelson had failed vetting. It says "The PM was not aware of any of this before the meeting, including that it was even possible to grant clearance against the advice of UKSV." The email from Dan York-Smith - the PM's civil service aide - also confirms Mandelson's failed vetting. "On reviewing the file she had therefore learned that the recommendation from the vetting officer had been that DV should not be granted to Peter Mandelson."

@KarlTurnerMP @FCDOGovUK What have you been offered to promote this bullshit on behalf of the Teflon PM? The Independent knew 7 months ago that Mandelson had failed vetting, and they asked Downing Street for confirmation. That's 100% verifiable. Starmer is toast.

It is both incredibly unfortunate and gravely concerning that the most senior official in @FCDOGovUK may have withheld information from the Foreign Secretary regarding the vetting of Lord Mandelson as the US Ambassador. 1/5

Just pointing out that I broke the story 7 months ago that Mandelson failed vetting from the security services and put it to Downing Street...so the idea that Downing Street only found out on Tuesday is complete nonsense. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

Mandelson was appointed on 20 December 2024. Olly Robbins became Perm Sec of the Foreign Office on 8 January 2025. PM should have asked about vetting before the announcement. If he was lied to, why is that Robbins’ fault? Vetting happens BEFORE an appt. Robbins wasn’t there.

When Jane Fonda went political with her speech at the National Audubon Society, she probably didn't expect to be heckled...by Kelsey Grammer. "I'm sorry, Jane," Grammer said as he interrupted her monologue about Trump, "But this banquet is about birds and people who wish to donate money to protect them. Do you think you could stay on topic?" Fonda answered by reminding him that she has a history of using public platforms for politics. "Which is why I'm amazed that anyone invites you anywhere," Grammer fired back, "It's getting a little bit old."
