It is good that we all see these people for who they are, but that isn’t the problem. The problem to solve is what do we do about it. There is no remedy in the constitution that allows us to do anything other than to try and vote our way out of this. That isn’t working. Politicians are acting outside the constitution and the law without consequence while the citizens are bound by the constitution regardless. Every constitutional remedy beyond the vote is held by the politicians not the citizen. I don’t think our founders ever saw most of the ruling class getting so corrupt that there wasn’t enough elected officials or cabinet members to do their due diligence or a time when the citizens would become so naive and a part of the corruption. At what point do patriots decide enough is enough and begin to look at other options? Constitutionally speaking, our only option is the vote. Politicians who are constitutionally charged with accountability and oversight are refusing to hold each other accountable. If the vote doesn’t work and we just replace one bad apple with the other in an endless round robin of voting cycles, should we consider options outside the constitution? What are they? How do you force the politicians to do their job and affect the changes necessary to realign with our constitution? Do the citizens actually have the power and will to take the government back? What do we replace it with? Was our founding the model for a revolt or revolution? Is it as bad as we think it is and the conditions so bad to warrant either kind of action? Food for thought. The Republic is in more danger than it has been since the civil war and it’s not getting better. Politicians and their spawn are acting like children and have destroyed the stability and credibility of the government. We are deep in debt with no end in sight, a crumbling infrastructure, an uneducated, ignorant populace as corrupt as the politicians themselves, and we have politicians like numb nuts here going overseas and giving aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war. Is the answer take the government back by any other means, and if so, what do we do with it once we have it? I’m not even sure I want it. Man, are we ever screwed.
