@BurgundyBlog The worst thing that could have happened to them in year 1 of a rebuild is to go 12-5 and a game away from the Super Bowl.

With every coming loss my interests will slide away from scheme and strategy, and more toward big-picture. Declining vets become irrelevant. Which coaches gotta go? How do you reboot the rebuild? From the moment a current season becomes futile, the future is all that matters.

@BurgundyBlog we gotta start talking about our draft picks because they been real questionable. Amos and Daniels really the only above average starters we’ve drafted and we had a lot of 2nd round picks

We all know where the season is headed. Maybe they'll mess around and flirt with contention but they're not contenders. Defense will never put two good halves together against a decent opponent. More demoralizing losses coming. It does affect my interests, and interest level.

Also, if the season deteriorates further from disappointing to downright embarrassing, you are going to be encountering A LOT more bitching online and on the radio about "Commanders" than you did in 2024. The wound will rip open.

@BurgundyBlog Time to look forward 2026 & beyond. If they don’t plan to sign Debo etc move them by the deadline. Also sit JD5 until after Dolphin game can’t afford an aggravated or another injury at this time in this season.

@JentzenG Fair. I think they thought they were doing both -- rejacking with vets for a deep run, and also bolstering young core though draft. Problem is, the draft picks are mostly low-impact.

@BurgundyBlog They don’t have to reboot the rebuild, they actually have to commit to the rebuild. Heading into year 3 with this regime and there’s going to be no resemblance of a young core. We have Daniels and that’s it, the long term outlook has taken a big hit this year

@ImportantJuan I mostly agree, but it's not like we would erase the memory of last year if we could. It was awesome. So the FO felt close enough to shoot their shot and try to run it back. I kinda get it. Just didn't work. Now you almost have to start over. But at least, with 5.
