EVERY Senator who fled to the airport to get out of Washington before they fully funded our brave ICE and Border Patrol agents MUST get back on a plane and DO YOUR JOB to fully fund DHS. @LeaderJohnThune needs to get our Senators back to town ASAP. And while you’re back, pass the SAVE America Act and get it on the President’s desk.

Should the Senate reconvene immediately and stay in session as long as it takes to (1) fully fund DHS, and (2) pass the SAVE America Act?

@RandPaul You could have stopped the 3 AM vote and the DHS compromise by objecting. You built your career on voting "no" to virtually everything. Why didn't you stop the DHS compromise?

My take wasn't uninformed, I do technically have an access to a thinktank which includes significant Congress experience and Johnson's take (and mine) was their consensus opinion. They had little faith in the reconciliation process or even if the Byrd amendment would even allow them to "resurrect" ICE at that step. And I've since received intel that not all Senators knew about the vote until it passed, which I suppose was the entire point of holding it at 3 AM. Some things are really as scummy as they appear to be.

To those Senators clinging to the Senate rules and clutching their pearls at the very idea that the Byrd “rule” should never be examined, or the “interpretation” of the filibuster rules by some long since departed parliamentarian, I refer them to the wisdom of Ralph Waldo Emerson in 1841: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.” @BasedMikeLee @SenEricSchmitt @SenRonJohnson @SenTedBuddNC @EIwatchdogs

I served in the Missouri state Senate. When we had a filibuster, I was in my office with my suit on, shoes on, ready to run upstairs at one, two, three in the morning for a roll call vote. That's how it's supposed to work. It's not supposed to be comfortable, it's supposed to produce results. The US Senate forgot that.

The EXACT language in the joke of a “bill” the Senate sent over at 3am. “’U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’ in the ‘Department of Homeland Security Act, 2026’ table shall all be $0.” Yup…you read that right! ZERO dollars for our Patriots in @ICEgov. Not on my watch!
