I am a sensible center left reformist and think every central bank should raise their policy interest rate to 20%

Then why bother ever pretending to do politics. If the entire population of a place is benighted with permanent madness then you're fucked, stop even bothering to try.

@FrederickDaBig @DogeXiaoping The legality of the dissolution doesn't negate blame, you seem to not understand that the fact that the constitution they wrote was exploited using the very same judges they relied on post revolution to rule laid the foundations for the illegal dissolution in the first place

@ClockRegularity @DogeXiaoping You seem uninformed? Von Papen dissolved the government a year before the Enabling Act and BEFORE HITLER WAS EVEN IN THE CABINET. Without illegally breaking the Constitution and taking control of Free Prussia there is no Enabling Act. Its like GOP invading Cali+NY.

People don't seem to understand that from 1918-1920 the SPD *was* the fascist party of Germany They build up the right-wing paramilitaries, had thousands murdered, brutally crushed the German revolution and prepared the path for a final solution of the socialist question: Hitler

@FrederickDaBig @DogeXiaoping > because they ILLEGALLY dissolved the Prussian government "They exploited an emergency clause in the constitution we wrote using the same conservative judges we relied on to rule the country UNFAIRLY, so it's totally not our faults for being shortsighted"

@FrederickDaBig @DogeXiaoping > Imagine mentioning things from 1919 as if its relevant to politics nearly 15 years later Why would they not? Are you going to pretend cause and effect doesn't exist in that short of a time frame, lol? (Ignoring that they held onto power for 12 years)

@FrederickDaBig @DogeXiaoping I don't think the KPD is blameless either, I am just pointing out the obvious that the brunt of the blame overwhelmingly fell on those actually controlling the government at the time. And yes, they were overwhelmingly responsible for clearing the path for National Socialism

@ClockRegularity @DogeXiaoping I didn't say you were? Like the Soviets worked with the Nazi's, so did the Soviet puppet party, the KPD. Claiming the SPD proliferated NatSoc policy is pretty stupid considering the NatSocs destroyed SocDem Free Prussia (while the KPD supported dissolution ofc!)

@ClockRegularity @DogeXiaoping That's cute. Kind of like how the Soviets stopped the Nazi's right? You know, after the Soviets worked with them and then were betrayed. Its a good thing they had those pesky American Social Democrats to save Europe from reactionaries the KPD and USSR unleashed on the world.

@DogeXiaoping Maybe don't try to overthrow the elected government next time. National Socialists and Communist Socialists deserve the same fate.

@ClockRegularity @politbureaucrat @JohnWakefieId it’s honestly surprising how many “sigma/literally me” films that get co-opted by chuds are actually just about class struggle or the mental & societal effects that capitalism has on human beings. think about it! joker, american psycho, even taxi driver to an extent.

It is so funny to do "the economy is fine actually" when it is both politically a dumbass move to do when you're trying to retake erstwhile power and we face the dramatic long term fallout of major fuel shortages and crop failure. from a disastrous failed war and climate change.

Okay but that's insane. You register that you being in such a position of wealth and privilege means that you, yourself, are insulated from the fact on the ground that people are struggling and that the economy is bad, right.
NickFrank40@NickyFrank30

Twice during the Biden presidency, I sat in a luxury suite lounge on a cruise ship where people who paid five figures to go on 2+ week vacations were whining about how bad the economy is and how badly they were struggling.
