I just made an addon for caching rigged models, like in Maya. Took a day. Works perfectly. Caches updates automatically after going out of pose mode. Can cache per model etc. I was making tests with basic geometry, cylinders. Then I tired on my character and I didn’t gain a single fps. Got stuck at 4.3, even baked. Then I realized that even if my plants were invisible in viewport, Blender still read the caches for the plants animations. I tried my character in a separate file, no plants, and it played at 24fps. I duplicated the character 5 times and I was still playing at 24fps. So I guess I made this addon for nothing. #b3d.

The little that was left over had to be split across: - rent - travel costs - office costs - accounting costs - advisory costs - transaction fees - conference costs - other various expenses The reservation for 2025 is in the negative: €-73 k. To keep Blender alive and get better features faster, Blender needs to not only survive, but to grow a much bigger team. The only way to do that is with more funding.
