The Government of the Republic of Indonesia expresses its deepest condolences following the death of one Indonesian peacekeeper and the injury of three others serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), after indirect artillery fire in the vicinity of the Indonesian UNIFIL contingent’s position near Adchit Al Qusayr on 29 March 2026, amid reported hostilities between the Israeli military and armed groups in southern Lebanon. Indonesia strongly condemns the incident and calls for a thorough and transparent investigation. We are profoundly saddened by this loss. We pay our highest respect to the fallen peacekeeper for his dedication and service to international peace and security. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, and we wish a full and swift recovery to the injured personnel. Indonesia is working with UNIFIL to ensure the prompt repatriation of the fallen and the best possible medical treatment for the injured. The safety and security of UN peacekeepers must be fully respected at all times, in accordance with international law. Any harm to peacekeepers is unacceptable and undermines collective efforts to maintain peace and stability. Indonesia reiterates its condemnation of Israel's attacks in southern Lebanon and calls on all parties to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, cease attacks against civilian populations and infrastructure, and return to dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and advance peace. Indonesia remains in close coordination with the United Nations and relevant authorities and will continue to closely monitor developments.

En la madrugada de ayer, se cruzó una nueva línea roja en el Líbano. Un casco azul de la ONU murió en este ataque y otros tres resultaron heridos. España condena tajantemente estos hechos. Exige que se aclare el origen del proyectil. Y pide al gobierno de Israel que detenga las hostilidades. Yesterday, Israel deliberately killed a UN Indonesian peacekeeper and wounded others in Lebanon. Israel cannot continue to be treated as a full member of the UN. Attacking UN peacekeepers is an abomination which was in the past perpetrated by terrorists, but never by members of the UN. Some of you pretended to care what the UN had to say in 1948. Do you care that the UN of today has had more UN personnel killed in the last 2 years than in its history. Instead of smearing me for trying to save this world, you should protect us for trying to save this world, not abandon us! This is the moment we can salvage what remains of the UN and international law. I call on everyone to unite for the sake of our humanity. The U.S. and Israel attacks on civilians must be stopped. Impunity must end.
