Due to staff illness we are sadly running slightly behind on some customer requests, rest assured we're resting up and will be back with you shortly! <3

When we ask our users why they picked AMP over other game server panels, they consistently tell us it's because of it's ease of use, ease of installation, the support, it's fair pricing, and the huge library of supported games.

For the first time ever, an application that isn't a game server enters the Top 5 most deployed applications from within AMP! @teamspeak 6 takes the #2 spot, with @Minecraft and ARK:SA @survivetheark holding onto their #1 and #3 spots while the newcomer @Hytale (the only application to ever top Minecraft in any given week) hangs in at #4, and @Valheimgame reclaims it's space on the board in #5.

In 2025, the average new AMP installation was on a system with 16GB of RAM, in 2026 this has dropped to 8GB with 16GB as the second most popular configuration (granted a fairly close second) - but still a clear reflection of increased RAM prices affecting gamers.

Minecraft Survival Multiplayer came out in August 2010. McMyAdmin was released in November 2010. That's how long we've been doing this ;)

@x_someuser @Hytale They actually have excellent reasons for requiring this. Largely around preventing abuse. It's a really positive step that allows them to hold rogue hosts and server operators accountable.

We've got a super-slick process in place for handling the setup for @Hytale servers. It prompts you during the install process and during server startup, and it's all smooth and quick with minimum fuss.

A few other things actually would be nice: Sets of commands to temporarily suspend/resume disk IO and query the state of that, to save pending data, if you want to be *really* cool an option to stop listening on the UDP socket and to resume it later without shutting the server down.

@CubeCoders @Hytale I like those ideas - I think we can do a lot of quality of life fixes here that will streamline self-hosting. @ZeroErrors and me will work out a list and communicate it in the coming days.

@Incubaitor @Hytale AMP is a server management platform in its own right. It can run *alongside* portainer happily enough but it's apples to oranges.

@slikey @Hytale @ZeroErrors That's excellent. We also reached out about getting access to the GSP level stuff for development purposes so we can make that accessible to AMP based GSPs as they get approval.

@K4L75231140 @Hytale It's our web based control panel for game servers called AMP. It automates the process as well as simplifying management and configuration. It's the only one capable of actually reacting to what's going on instead of just passively starting containers and hoping for the best.

We actually fixed persistence for Docker ourselves - it's not actually an issue. Not having the version data auth gated would be helpful so we can check for updates passively would be the biggest one. Also since the downloader has to authenticate, why not let the game server share the same auth data? It'd save a redundant step. Would definitely love to chat more with you guys about how this is playing out, we've already got thousands of Hytale servers deployed already. Kudos on everything so far though!

@CubeCoders @Hytale That looks really cool! Anything we can do to make this easier? We already track an issue with the lack of persistence for auth session in Docker environments. Anything else we can do to make self-hosting easier?

Okay yes, we get it - you're enjoying @Hytale (or maybe just enjoying setting up servers for hit? We're not judging!)
