I was scammed. I’m ashamed to say that was my first intro to crypto. A fairly close friend emailed me with an investment opportunity and I trusted her 120%. I had no reason not to. Long story short, someone had hacked her email account and was impersonating her so I lost a nice chunk of money. I realized that if I had known even a tiny bit about crypto I would have realized it was a scam long before I actually started becoming suspicious so I decided it was time to learn. I was never going to be scammed again. Spoiler alert: I did get scammed again. 😒
