@GamewithDave Also, renting was how I ended up playing the vast majority of games - there was almost no “buy full priced game on faith” happening

@GamewithDave I had a subscription to EGM in 1992, where every game was scored by 4 different people and would use it to build my birthday/Christmas lists If anything, back then, especially as a child, I’d have to think far harder about what games I wanted, because I’d only get 3-4 a year

We used to commit to a full-price game after a 30-second inspection of the back of the case. No gameplay. No reviews. Just faith🙏

@Pirat_Nation Vávra is right, the "native resolution" purists are fighting a losing battle at this point. If the tech makes KCD2 look this good without killing my frame rate, why would anyone actually complain?

There is no K model for DLSS 4.5, K model is DLSS 4 (the first transformer model). Model L is designed for ultra performance Model M for Performance. Respectfully, you're a tech analysis channel with a huge audience so using the correct presets for analysis is kind of important as well as understanding what the presets actually are....

@papaG62471341 @OhNoItsAlexx I wouldn’t go that far - it’s a game I had a lot of fun playing, looks/runs beautifully and has some great performances, even if the script is ridiculous, the hit reactions are more “dice roll” than I’d like and it’s really missing a difficulty mode between classic and insanity

Just finished Resident Evil Requiem If it wasn’t for Crimson Desert I would absolutely replay the game multiple times for the Challenge points It’s exactly what I want to see more games do, give incentives to replay the game rather than MTX

Yep, I could make an argument that the ending works thematically, but right now, I’m not confident I could make anything resembling a strong argument for the plot mechanics Even the strongest analysis I’ve got now (which is at best, thin), still means a bunch of plot threads are straight up nuked

@CyborgMarc off topic but its really annoying when people say to just "enjoy the themes" or that "themes don't matter" when plot and theme go hand and hand, one can't really exisit without the other

I feel like I need to re-read the entire manga to figure out answers which work (or know for sure there aren’t any), but I have a LOT of questions on how #ChainsawMan’s ending functions within the universe’s mechanics. I won’t spoil it here, but brace for a bizarre conclusion

@D0TPSK @YankeeLovesCats That question doesn’t even rank in the top 100 of completely valid ones people have about that ending. You’re following people who want key jangles and that sucks - but there are plenty of reasonable questions about the mechanics of the ending

@YankeeLovesCats legitimately all i’ve seen is people complaining that Reze never showed up despite the fact that there was never any sort of tell that she would. It feels like people want CSM to be a marvel movie with characters they recognize making a cameo for literally no reason all the time

My last note is that People are saying NOTHING was resolved and there were 50 plotlines left behind but Everything was resolved? Besides what devil Pochita exactly is. What are you talking about? I actually want to know. Everything left was resolved besides the one i mentioned

@YankeeLovesCats Resolved and erased aren’t the same thing - I’m not sure the ending works in the in-universe mechanics, but even if it does, plenty of stuff isn’t so much resolved as it is wiped.

Spoilers - - - - Whether it makes sense or not entirely hinges on how concept erasure works and how it affects time. The most functional way, would be to say that when a concept is erased, time is rewritten, effectively making the consumption of a devil create a new universe/timeline. That would make the ending we have possible, but not explain why it begins at that specific point in time - other than the meta reason of it being chapter 1 of the manga. Erasure has also never clearly shown that things like deaths are also rewritten - Katana is alive in part 2, but was also made into a Makima puppet at the end of part 1. Is he resurrected because of how part 1 ends? Or simply released from the puppet state? Either way, the story resumes chronologically, factoring in the erasure and its affect on history - the end of part 2 is the first time that along with a new timeline, Denji appears to have actually travelled backwards through time. This COULD work if we, the readers, are being shown this moment in the timeline, as a wink to how the story began and that Denji, after the events of 231, experiences the next chronological moment, with the memories of the new timeline instead of the old one - but it seems that he woke up in that moment, implying history was rewritten, in addition to Denji travelling backwards through time. I don’t need things to be spelled out or simple, but I want them to be functional and sadly, I’m not certain that this is.

“There aren’t any, just don’t think about it, enjoy the themes” might very well be the answer and if it is, that sucks. I hope there’s more to it than that, but if there is, it will require a lot of thinking on the reader’s part, it’s definitely not easy, simple or clear

Every steam sale is being hosted on servers and using bandwidth they don’t need to pay for though - the “but [store] gets 30%” argument, doesn’t factor in that if you’re running the store, the operating costs are significant, especially at scale. This is also why I think Sony spooling up their own PC storefront is a bad idea - that 30% isn’t money wasted, it’s being spent on the platform with the best feature set in the industry

@CyborgMarc @NixxesSoftware Cuz Steam gets a 30% cut and Sony probably finds it a hard pill to swallow so they oversell their games to compensate for the loss. Worst case Sony can create their own PC store and sell their games at a lower price.
