truly one of the most amazing developments in trans-Atlantic tech policy over the past 20 years is the way that Europe set out to regulate US tech giants into the ground, but only made them more dominant as a result. This Economist headline really says it.


Deferring pension contributions is the Pandora's box of municipal finance, where a seemingly harmless action unleashes a legacy of complications. Once that seal is broken, NYC will start the descent into the same liability-fueled spiral that has hollowed out so many other cities.
















And strangely, the settlement nearly always equals the limit of insurance, with the main topic of negotiation how much of that the plaintiff lawyers keep as fees.
