Good backs don’t fix bad run blocking OLs. Bad backs are made good by good run blocking OLs. Great backs make good run blocking OLs look great. Welcome to the paradox of evaluating the running back position. A highly dependent position that needs a solid baseline to function.

shaheed's gravity his first week w the team. az looks to be in cover 4 or 6 and pulls 3 deep defenders towards him. even tho 30 has deep support from both sides of the field, he is late to trigger until the ball crosses the 45. extremely late w eyes on the q the whole time too.

@Portland_Sucks_ You are literally writing fan fiction to justify your dumb fucking opinion to protect your feelings. Facts don’t give a shit about those. MM in week 4 and on called to give Ken more touches and look what happened Ken got more touches and lapped Charbs. Sounds like a RB1.

@DatTimmyTim Yeah he didn't miss a single game on his "contract year". Before that MM was frustrated because he wouldn't practice or OTAs due to "Contusions" AKA Bruising. Riq was about to be traded and he went in and asked JS & MM to keep him and he will focus more. NFCCG...

People will tell themselves anything. Fuck these snap count narrative. Walker was their RB1. He was rested during blow outs. And outperformed Charbs in 11/16. He was literally their starting and early down RB. Woolen was their primary and best boundary corner.
12th_Man_Tale_of_the_tape!@Portland_Sucks_

@new_era72 Where did they lose 3 starters? K9 was RB2, Riq was backup to Jobe and Witherspoon. Coby was the only starter and Okada filled in without missing a beat and that made Coby expendable.

@pnwdrew526 My point was Bonitto was seen as just a dpr and a liability on other downs. He became a more fleshed out player. And teams can see the profile/development curve and map it to Howell. It’s not a 1:1 but in a depressed draft that seems like a no brainer dice roll.

@DatTimmyTim i don’t see the Bonitto comp. He doesn’t have the same fluidity, flexibility, or true quickness that Bonitto does imo. I just don’t think many realize what they’re watching in a dude like Bonitto. None of the dpr guys this yr compare to him imo.

@pnwdrew526 I agree he is a dpr right now. I’ve seen the Benito comps and I think a team will talk themselves into Howell being able to grow into that archetype. So back mid-back half of RD2 isn’t crazy especially when so many positions in the draft are light or the talent margin is thin.

@DatTimmyTim I think he’ll have a dpr role but people keep talking about Howell being top 40-50 maybe even sneaking into the first and that’s just crazy to me

@Portland_Sucks_ Ken didn’t miss a single game last year. He also received the lion share of the touches. Charbonnet missed week 3 for no good reason. And was a designated pass protector and 4th quarter blowout carry eater. They kept Riq because he was more valuable than being off the team

@DatTimmyTim Should listen to your own advice. Zach was RB1 until he got hurt. Riq was benched in favor of an UDFA in Jobe. K9 missed games, practices and OTAs because of bruises and Riq was so good that they couldn't find a trade partner and he only got a 1yr $12 Mill prove it deal.

@ayang_10 @SeahawkNerd The comp in my mind is Steelers James Connor. Light feet, good finisher. Just enough wiggle at the first two levels to adjust to sudden chaos and slip poor angles. Wish there was as more pass protection and pass catching reps. The promise of what people think Charbonnet is.

@ayang_10 @SeahawkNerd Coleman doesn’t finish as well unfortunately nor does he have the burst to pull off a quick dead leg. Johnson and Allen are closer to that mold but kinda the small and big versions of Carson.

@Allblue47 Then tell me how the defense is fitting the run versus how the OLine is performing. Because news flash Charbonnet was missing key gaps and eating just as much negative runs so there has to be external factors interfering with what the backs where see and the point of the run

@Allblue47 Show me. Define a wide open gap when it comes to a zone run. Or even a duo run. What is the point of the run. Also. He didn’t say any of that. Those were Gregg Bell’s words to describe Walker’s feelings on not getting approached about an extension before the Super Bowl.

@Allblue47 Then study the fucking film guy instead of forming an opinion off less than 12% of Walker’s plays, our dumb bloggers/podcasters, and study offensive line play Then come back with an actual informed opinion instead acting like a low informed jaded ex.

@CDonnick1 special teams is valid, but at the same time, he is a nothing on offense, even with that blocking they won a super bowl though so there is mass grace

Jake Bobo is the slowest WR in football, has 323 yards and 3TD through 45 careers games, and is 28 years old in his 4th career season yet multiple NFL teams were bidding on him with multi-year deals? sure.

@RotoSurgeon He is making 2.75m a year to mainly play special teams and provide utility for the offense. How are you this unabashedly dense?

Winning a 1:1 in the redzone for a touchdown in the NFCCG in a game where they won by 4 points is “nothing on offense”
