Since the return from Olympics, the Devils are 7-5 In games vs non playoff teams they are 5-1 (with 27 goals scored in 6 games) In games vs a playoff team they are 2-4 (with 13 goals scored in 6 games) You know, the bar has been pretty low so I’ve enjoyed watching some decent hockey lately. But this is a clear reminder that this is NOT a good hockey team. System tweaks, finally healthy, Jack being hot etc.. none of it matters. This team is still not good even close to good enough

Can’t score all game. Down 1-0 late. Allow empty net goal. 2-0. Only THEN they finally score (just to get your hopes up) Aaaand Lose 2-1. Typical Devils

If the #GoHabsGo were close to getting Matthew Knies, maybe an extended Nico Hischier can land us Cole Caufield. He’s not a power forward but he’s the goal scoring RHS we’ve been missing. For me, it’s a deal I’d make cause it would drastically shuffle our core. #NJDevils

Jack Hughes really gives you a reason to watch every night Even now when the games are meaningless, he is just so fun to watch. Somehow keeps the puck in, walks past 2 at the blue line. Give and go, and slaps it home Such a special player. Please let’s build a TEAM around him

@DevilsRedAlert @jp_gambatese LA probably counts on the “playoff” side. Close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades. Certainly in the “team playing hard for points” category.

Between Fitz and/or Keefe, whoever was forcing the #NJDevils to play terrorist hockey instead of the high-octane rush system they’ve played since the Olympic break did this team so much injustice. Entirely different squad when they’re playing this way.

Arseni Gritsyuk that was incredible Blew past one of the best dmen in the league in Adam Fox, really showed off his speed. Grits takes it all the way himself and snipes it past Quick Better start working on that extension now 💵

@Singsy24 @jp_gambatese Yeah this seems off. 20 year old only playing Allsvenskan no SHL this season. He’s obviously done well but I don’t see how he projects out better than other players with strong numbers in better leagues. Lot of things to lose sleep over, Herman Traff is very low on the list lol

@jp_gambatese He’s 20 and not playing in the highest league in Sweden. I think we’ll survive this one.

Herman Träff, who the #NJDevils sent to Anaheim in the trade that gave them one playoff round of Brian Dumoulin, has the highest PNHLe in the Ducks’ system (67). Träff has 23G & 41P in 51 Allsvenskan games.

@TJWarrior45 You can make excuses if you want, it’s all too familiar falling flat offensively in a big game. Like you said they are beatable, I expect a way better effort

@DevilsRedAlert detroit is beatable, but the goals against were not that great, plus both Connor and Lenni hit posts.. we had our chances.. but yeah disappointing after a great win against the Rangers.

The Devils beat up a bunch of mediocre teams. When they finally play a team with a pulse they are shutout at home But we still believe in this group 🥴
