Today I thought about quitting science (as one does). By some magic, I still have my MSTP admissions essays on an old flash drive. According to my much younger self: “I have found the thing that I am absolutely meant to do.” She was so sure. Guess I shouldn’t quit. 🙄

One of the most insidious problems in science…lack of antibody controls and verified antibodies. There really needs to be a standardized system where validated antibodies can be listed and antibodies that don’t work flagged. Would save countless $$ and time!

Interesting study showing dozens of papers may be wrong (b/c antibody crossreactivity). Will all those papers be retracted? No. So what's the best way to signal the issue? Right now it's review articles, word of mouth, and I guess PubPeer. 1/2
