Have you noticed an increase in "jellies" while out on the Puget Sound? Working with Tribal fishers during salmon harvest revealed that Moon Jellies (Aurelia labiata) are more numerous. Researchers noticed an intensification of the blooms after the marine heat wave in 2015-2016.

While we are out on the Puget Sound Mapping Expedition we are taking the time to see what is going on under the water as well. Kelp forests are disappearing in Puget Sound but we had the opportunity to film this one under the Sound to Narrows bridge.

At EarthViews Conservation Society, we are committed to protecting and restoring these vital habitats. These photos, taken at the mouth of the Nisqually River in the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, showcases a juvenile Bald Eagle perched on a sunken tug.

The recovering Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is supporting a robust Bald Eagle population, showcasing the success of habitat restoration efforts. However, more work needs to be done to ensure these majestic birds and other wildlife thrive. #Conservation
