New York has become the 13th state, along with Washington, D.C., to legalize medically assisted suicide. More than a dozen other states are also considering legalizing the practice, which supporters call medical aid in dying. @TheStephSy traveled to both coasts to reexamine an issue that has divided Americans along moral and political lines.

Blowback and backlash to social media and its effects on young people are reverberating across the globe. Many countries have announced plans to pass measures restricting social media access for children and teens. But Australia was the first to implement a ban late last year, setting an example that other nations are now closely monitoring. @TheStephSy reports on what that pioneering ban looks like for teens today.

Federal investigators are trying to figure out what led to a collision between a commercial airliner and a fire truck on the runway at New York's LaGuardia Airport that killed two pilots and injured dozens. The Trump administration's plan to end temporary protected status for Haitians in the U.S. was blocked Tuesday by a federal court in Washington, D.C. The program, which allows Haitians to live and work legally in the U.S., was set to expire yesterday. Letting the program expire would have left roughly 350,000 people vulnerable to deportation. The Trump administration plans to appeal the court's ruling. Stephanie Sy (@TheStephSy) reports on how the uncertainty has one Ohio city bracing for what's next.
