For being new and big etc One Bkk is a pretty shitty mall compared to fun ones like emq, central world, t21 etc. it's like a ghost town and everything is disconnected and even the bathrooms are meh.

@Ajarncom Thank you for sharing. I’m planning a trip to Sattahip in the coming days. What are your impressions of the beach and vicinity?

Our Sattahip guest house is 1,400 baht a night (no breakfast included). Ambitious in my opinion, but they're fully booked so what do I know. We stayed here before a couple of years ago and they upgraded us to a room three times this size. No such luck this time. Nice view of the bay over the rooftops. The accommodation is mostly bunk beds in a shared room but I don't know how much they go for. I need my en -suite bathroom.

Bane creator Graham Nolan on James Gunn's Superman movie: "Superman has one histrionic outburst after another and wonders why he’s mistrusted? Way too beta. His parents are from Kansas and sound and act like they were inbred in Kentucky. It’s a narrative mess as scenes jump confusingly. Too many characters with no intro to who they are. I know Steve Lombard’s background but a normy doesn’t. Perry White smokes a cigar with no smoke or ash Calling fight plays during a fight? That’s idiotic. We never see Metamorpho do anything to break up the war at the end, yet there he is all of a sudden. I have one unbreakable rule when it comes to movies and entertainment: make me care! I’ll buy all kinds of bullshit you are selling if I care about the characters and stakes. For SUPERMAN…I didn’t care." Is he right?

@Bangkokboy17 It’s a fine neighborhood. But frankly you stretch between Sois 55 - 64 are beginning to be filled with insufferable types. I prefer the area between Sois 39 - 53 for a slightly more laid back and family-oriented vibe

𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘇: 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗸’𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 "𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱" 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 For years, Thong Lor has carried a reputation as the playground for Bangkok’s ultra-wealthy—a land of Ferraris, pretentious rooftop bars, and "eye-wateringly expensive" condos. But as travel vlogger Paddy Doyle prepares to move into his newly purchased home there, he’s peeling back the designer facade to see if the neighborhood actually has a soul. What he found wasn't just another concrete jungle, but a vibrant community where luxury Bentleys share the road with street food stalls and... cows? 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘝𝘪𝘣𝘦: 𝘓𝘶𝘹𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘔𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘓𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 Thong Lor is often called "fashionable and trendy," but Doyle’s deep dive reveals a more nuanced reality. While the main artery is a bustling, traffic-heavy stretch of high-rises, the side streets (or sois) offer a surprisingly quiet, residential atmosphere. It’s a place where you can find a G-Wagon parked outside a humble ramen shop or a high-end Japanese supermarket right next to a traditional Thai street vendor. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘎𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘞𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘦 🏛️ Wat Phasi: Perhaps the biggest surprise of the day, this Buddhist temple is a spiritual sanctuary hidden among the skyscrapers. Doyle describes it as feeling like a "unique artistic temple out in the provinces". Complete with chickens, statues, and even cows, it offers a raw, humble contrast to the neighborhood's glitzy reputation. 🌳 The "Intersection Park": While Thong Lor lacks the massive green spaces of Lumphini, Doyle discovered a community park tucked under a massive road intersection [09:01]. Though noisy, it features a skate park and picnic areas, showing the neighborhood's potential for family-friendly growth. ☕ PM Organic Living: A "little oasis" cafe tucked away in a quiet alley, featuring a yoga studio, organic lotions, and a garden so peaceful you can hear the frogs. 𝘈 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘈𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦 (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸) 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥𝘴 No trip to Thong Lor is complete without hitting the heights. Doyle visited Octave at the Marriott, praising its 360-degree views, though he noted the DJ volume might be a bit much for those looking for a quiet conversation. For a more "Instagrammable" but high-priced experience, he checked out Tichuca, one of the city's most stunning (and crowded) rooftop bars. Ultimately, Doyle found his comfort zone back on solid ground at The Old English Pub, enjoying a classic Sunday roast and a pint—proving that Thong Lor has a place for everyone, from the socialite to the expat seeking a slice of home. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵 Is Thong Lor overrated? Doyle’s conclusion is a resounding no. By venturing off the main road, he found a neighborhood with "many personalities"—one that is surprisingly calm, deeply spiritual, and ready to be called home. I have never understood the massive economic gap in Italy. Why is the North, with its various industries, one of the wealthiest areas in Europe, while the South remains so extremely poor? Same country, same language, same culture, same laws and taxes. Can someone please explain?
