Nobody talks about how impossible it is to sleep in the UK when the temperature hits 30°C😭 These houses trap heat and opening the window brings in warm air or made not difference How did everyone sleep last night 🥵

@linmeitalks If the argument is that people might abuse the system once they get ILR, then that tells you the real problem is the system, not the migrants. A broken welfare system should be reformed not used as an excuse to keep penalising legal workers who already contribute.

My issue is with granting those on work visas, indefinite leave to remain which will allow hundreds of thousands, many in low paying jobs who are currently living 5-8 in small flats/ houses, access to public funds/our welfare system. They will then still work but place their wives on universal credit or even themselves to supplement their wage and apply for housing benefit element or even register for a house. Sorry I don’t agree with that.
Mr David-Leo Toyin Alabi@DavidLeoAlabi

@linmeitalks Typically misinformed people claim not to be misinformed about subjects they're largely misinformed about. Legal migrants have no recourse to public funds. The fact that you lots don't even understand the system makes any debate with y'all on this subject an exercise in futility.

@hvsperus @linmeitalks Why would someone resign from a job just to access government benefits that are usually lower than their monthly income and don’t support the same standard of living they already maintain through work?

@Edewezy @linmeitalks it literally provides them with the recourse to public funds so that they do not need to contribute to the country

Then they should remain on working visas. Why should they have access to citizenship or public services. How is it anything to do with slavery?? They’ll continue to work and support themselves without ever being able to rely on welfare.
LISTENER (I no speak again)@CHIKADIBIA___

@linmeitalks You are extremely misinformed, these are normal legal migrants that come in here to work.. It is modern Slavery to change from an original 5year route to 10years route,so any Government can change the 10years to 20years. Most of them don't want even public funds

@Edewezy @linmeitalks I live in a place with a lot of Boriswavers, often there is only one parent working more than likely in a low paid care job so once they get ILR they will qualify for all kinds of top ups. They tend to have a lot of dependents and round me appear to be having a baby boom

Many people on “low paid care job” work 50–70 hours a week to support their families. They are tied to these roles for years under visa conditions, with limited ability to switch or progress. ILR is often the only pathway that allows them to stabilise their lives, access better paid work, and qualify for things like mortgages and other financial services. So the question is why design a system that keeps people in low paid roles long term, then assumes they will become a burden, instead of allowing them to progress out of it?

@faultycontainer @linmeitalks Even if the aim is to reduce more people coming over, what about those already here? Legal migrants are working and contributing, not relying on public funds. Wouldn’t reforming the benefits system be a more direct solution than penalising people who are already in the system?

@Edewezy @linmeitalks There’s just too many legal migrants here, sadly it’s changing the fabric of society and not for the better. At least with the changes to ILR it would stop more people coming over. This is what the majority want.

@naughty_libra07 Do people really do that? I don’t like eating before going out. The good thing I usually get to choose the restaurant and order whatever I want. And if I don’t like any of the main dishes, I can always save my appetite and enjoy dessert instead.

@Madridghost1 She came to the UK on a Skilled Worker visa, and her husband was her dependent. As a dependent, he could apply for jobs without needing employer sponsorship. So I’m curious who were the people giving not one, but two doctors advice on something they clearly already understood?

🚨 L'ÉQUIPE TAKES ACTION. 😳🇫🇷 French broadcaster France Pierron has been taken off air with immediate effect following the backlash surrounding her comments about Jérémy Doku, according to journalist Clément Garin. Pierron came under heavy criticism after describing childbirth as a "disgusting moment" while discussing Doku's temporary departure from Belgium's World Cup camp to be present for the birth of his son. The controversy sparked widespread outrage across social media and the press, leading L'Équipe to publicly apologise to Doku before suspending the presenter. 💬 Was the punishment justified or has the reaction gone too far?

🚨👶 Jérémy Doku could temporarily leave Belgium's World Cup camp to be present for the birth of his son, and the debate has exploded across Europe. 🇧🇪 French journalist France Pierron didn't hold back: 🗣️ Pierron: "Are you seriously telling me these players have sacrificed everything to come to the World Cup, and you're leaving just to cut an umbilical cord? 😳 You're lucky enough to play in a World Cup. It's an incredible privilege, and hundreds of footballers would do anything to be in your position. That opportunity might never come around again in your life. And you're going to throw it all away just to attend your child's birth? It's a moment where the father isn't really needed. He has a symbolic role. You hold her hand and take a photo. And then what? You're going to miss 10 hours, experience an emotional high, and be exhausted afterwards. You can't miss a World Cup. Some people may have gone into debt just to get to the World Cup, maybe sacrificed everything to be there, and you're leaving to cut an umbilical cord..." 😳 The reaction has completely split fans. Some believe family comes before everything, while others see the World Cup as an opportunity that may never come around again. 🌍 What would you do: stay with your national team or be there for your son's birth? 🤔
