Hosting an edtech conference? 1. Make sure the projectors in the conference rooms can show the work being presented. 2. If there is a mic available, USE IT! You are not loud enough. 3. If you are asking presenters to use their keyboard and mouse, don't give them a hand held mic.

Any school district whose first reaction is to block #chatGPT is just making sure the kids who can afford devices at home have access and the kids who can't won't. It could be the biggest technological catalyst in generations.We shouldn't gatekeep it because we can't adapt.

Student discourse doesn't fit the standardized testing model. Thus educational leaders will be slow to adopt and I worry by the time they realize it, we will have lost. Take a look, and start asking it questions. The end is near.

As a technology TOSA for two districts I often preached, "If you don't want students to cheat, then ask them questions they can't google." But I don't think that's possible anymore. We have to move into a world focused on Student Discourse and understanding.
