โ€œGovernment has three primary functions. It should provide for military defense of the nation. It should enforce contracts between individuals. It should protect citizens from crimes against themselves or their property. When government-- in pursuit of good intentions tries to rearrange the economy, legislate morality, or help special interests, the cost come in inefficiency, lack of motivation, and loss of freedom. Government should be a referee, not an active player.โ€ - Milton Friedman

@GrootAfrikaner In my opinion, the ANC will be postponing elections by any means until they believe they can win. There will probably be some manufactured crisis, logistical issues or claims of foreign interference followed by dragged out court cases. Elections are not in their interest.

The ANC canโ€™t afford to lose the next election, they know why, we know why! Thousands will face the full extent of the law and lose their properties, cars, freedom and any foreign assets. Wake up, South Africans, or we will be worse off than Zimbabwe, Congo, or any other third-world country. Save South Africa and stop supporting corrupt and incompetent officials.

After my 3-part Johannesburg series proved the ANC deliberately destroyed the cityโ€™s water over 32 years, now the same criminal model has spread nationwide. Pretoria: Cholera deaths in Hammanskraal while the city blows R770 million+ on tankers. Ekurhuleni: R211 million in irregular spending quietly written off + R13 BILLION owed to suppliers. Durban: ANCโ€™s own senior leaders admitting the violent Water Tanker Mafia is murdering officials and sabotaging pipes for profit. The ANC turned three more major metros into their personal looting machine with the same playbook, the same protection for the syndicates. Full 3-part deep-dive with city-specific receipts, scandals. The ANC didnโ€™t just loot Johannesburg, they exported the destruction across South Africa. #WaterCrisisSA #ANCLootedTheWater #TshwaneCholera #EkurhuleniDebt #DurbanMafia #WakeUpSA

@Reuters There are those who certainly overestimate their own resiliency. Being able to adapt in a foreign land is not for everyone and it's not easy. However, returning knowing full well why you left and then pretending it's no longer an issue is a new level of delusional.

In SA EVs make no sense because there is no infrastructure for it. Where the infrastructure exists: 1000km on fuel is way more expensive than EV chargers (everywhere) or flights. Anyone who needs to move possessions find it cheaper to hire a van than to keep an extra parking space for a trailer. Broad statement about EVs need to take in account context.

Rich people believe in EVs because they donโ€™t suffer the consequences of EVs. A poor person might drive 1000km in a day. A rich person will simply fly. A poor person might need to tow their possessions. A rich person just has duplicate possessions at their next location.

I do not live in SA anymore. We got a Tesla and we love it. The key reason why it works though is never having to worry about charging when you're going on long trips with superchargers (15 mins to charge per 300+kms). As a car it drives beautifully. No noise, fast and smooth. It's not perfect but it exceeded my expectations. I have driven BYDs as well and they were also nice. It is really like going from a Blackberry to an iPhone.

@Recon1_ZA We've seen this movie before. The ANC comes back with KFC and promises not to do the things that make the people mad if they vote for them this time. They're voted in again and it's business as usual. Rinse, repeat.

Starlink Mobile just teamed up with MTN Zambia to bring data, voice, video calls, and messaging to spots where regular cell towers don't reach. MTN Zambia nailed the first successful direct-to-cell testing in Africa, making them the second carrier there to roll out Starlink Mobile service. Source: @Starlink

Ha ha. ANC is having a hernia over the DA's latest billboard. A billboard mocking Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufiโ€™s habit of checking into hotels during water cuts is headed for a court showdown. Two days after the ad went up, the ANC wrote to the DA saying the billboard tarnishes the partyโ€™s image and that it does not have permission to use an AI-generated image of Lesufi having a shower while grinning. Viva, ANC, VIVA. You did it again.
