The concept of transgender and associated ‘medical healthcare’ is socially created, socially curated and social contagion. It exists because humans made it exist. Social consumerism.

@PaulWhiteleyPhD Especially given how vulnerable autistic children can be to tv/ screens in terms of behaviour/ distinguishing between reality / fiction / addiction and the higher likelihood of someone with autism going on to be diagnosed with schizophrenia.

"not a single congenitally blind person with schizophrenia has ever been reported" theconversation.com/people-who-are… "People who lose their sight later in life, or whose blindness is caused by damage to the eyes rather than the brain, can still develop the condition." Interesting.

@Psychgirl211 I’m now of tamoxifen, a strangely mixed hormonal suppressor. Can cause awful mood issues. AIs are worse apparently. (Some women in the US take testosterone with the AI and it helps them a lot.) The exercise helps combat my low hormone levels mood and pain wise . 3/

@PTrubetskov @stimimi Breathing, sleep, stretching, and sensory stuff that I’ve learnt from the OTs I work with and methods I use with children with adhd do work but I am my own worse enemy with my creativity and it can all go to pot. Executive function difficulties would be more helpful dx. 6/

@PTrubetskov @stimimi Which is ridiculous. I don’t know whether to beg for hrt (it’s oestrogen positive but I’m on tamoxifen and one consultant suggested it) or Ritalin at an upcoming clinic. I don’t want to loose what slight libido I have with antidepressants. Routines of food, exercise, rest, 5/

@cabbagekeks @bindelj @BBC6Music Update; whilst they do now play her I have personally only heard Nick Grimshaw play one song from her last album. And that was relatively recently, in tbe last 6 months. @roisinmurphy

Do you remember when Laura Snapes at the Guardian said that Róisín Murphy‘s album had an “ugly stain“ on it, because she had spoken out against puberty blockers?

@akuareindorf I work in a school and have always had to follow acceptable dress policies. This has included correctly fitted bras and not showing a g string. It’s just not fucking appropriate to wear fake breasts to work.

7/ Wearing giant prosthetic breasts at work is less likely to be conduct of a sexual nature, but depending on the circumstances it might be. In which case, the employer has a duty to prevent it.

@Elsebeth_Is The issue is that it confuses the picture. A child who understands on a surface level what happens during a fire alarm but doesn't understand what happens during a lockdown alarm even though both are alarms, specifically because they have never been taught the 2nd one and --

They try to help autistic children a lot more in the US than they do here. Here they are "managed" by education and contained. And if you have parents who can fight, you might get SALT in there, but that doesn't really help in the long run and may confuse the picture further.
KPSS@Elsebeth_Is

@KShabby16334956 Something I’m aware of with a relative in the US who is certainly autistic but not diagnosed is that the US has different diagnosis systems due to insurance. The OT input is much, much, much better compared to the U.K. and school systems different. If she’d been given asd dx 1/

@Elsebeth_Is You cannot cure their autism. De-diagnosing them is dangerous. They are still highly vulnerable in any situation that they have not been explicitly taught and even then explicit teaching can fail because there was a variable not thought of. signed, mom of 2 very vuln asd girls

@KShabby16334956 I would also say that the basic premise of social stories helps the teacher understand how to break down perspectives and scaffold steps for the child.

@KShabby16334956 On that point I agree. There are some children I have seen do very well with these interventions however. All are individuals. The basic premise of teacch supports the teacher more than the pupil. Ultimately a holistic, safe, evidenced + paced approach 2 educatn is what I favour.
