Barry Darsow Says He Had A 30-Minute Hall Of Fame Speech Ready Before WWE Gave Him and Bill Eadie Six Minutes Total. "I had a speech that was going to be about a half hour long, and I was going to tell stories about Andre the Giant and different people and how I got in the business and all that. And when they came to us and said, You had six minutes, six minutes between both of us? They said, Yes." wrestlingnews.co/wwe-news/demol…

@SnowcatTish @nodqdotcom They should have moved them over to AAA. Undertaker seems to be doing a good job and if anyone knows how to make dark characters work it has to be the guy that spent his career playing the most successful dark character in Wrestling history.

@nodqdotcom I do believe it's bullshit. I don't think it's a matter of not liking dark characters, it's that the current writing team doesn't know how to write for dark characters.

@georgelucas880 @nodqdotcom @aaronrift Rowan may just retire to be fair, but I'm sure will find work if he wants it. Nikki will probably benefit from the move. She's been largely wasted since she moved up from NXT.

Meltzer though, so take with a grain of salt. And it's important to note that just because the faction didn't work, doesn't mean they needed to release every single member. Sure, the 40 year olds makes sense. But Nikki is 37 and Bo Dallas is 35. They were the best two and could easily be put together in a spin off. Really whatever the case, it shows how bad the idea was in the first place. Not the core idea, but the execution. Why make a faction where the youngest member is the leader and still mid-thirty. Why would you plan a bit intro for the group and not plan an ending for the storyline. They ended up as literally a tribute act. The storyline should have had a big end and not the fizzle it had with the MFT's (Who also lost Tonga Loa and JC Mateo so clearly it did nothing for them). Had survivors series actually still had survivors series matches in it, this team would have had a perfect end date. Even if it was against the MFT's. Loser group splits. Then you put Nikki with Bo and give everyone else future endeavors. But anyway, not sure I buy it. I do think Meltzer that most of the releases is down to age. But the dark stuff sounds a reasonable second thing and a good explanation of why Bo and Nikki went with the rest.

@RealDemoSmash Love it. Always appreciated the amount of time that goes in to it. Especially considering it was often sweat off by the end of the match. How long did it take to do the smash makeup before every match?

Well that's the thing. They peaked a decade ago. It has become a bit stale in WWE even aside from the bad booking and Big E basically having to retire from in ring action. They still have a lot to offer. But, their departure is ultimately best for everyone. They were offered new terms to stay, so it's not like WWE didn't want them. But it makes sense. If they aren't going to be pushed, they want it to be financially worthwhile. But WWE don't want to overpay for people they aren't going to push and they don't want to push a decade old team that seems to have lost the fan interest. The team meanwhile know they won't struggle to find work and will get a better run (Probably a retirement run give their ages) pretty much anywhere else. So this one is best for everyone involved. I'm sure they'll have a great run in AEW.

JobberNationTV: THE REALITY CHECK FOR THE IWC
Taking away my bias for the New Day since Im a fan Truthfully?? The WWE product loses almost nothing with them being gone. Theyve done nothing since turning heel on Big E (WWEs fault) But theyve also been injured alot the past couple of years I dnt remember them being on TV nuch consistently They dnt sell merch anymore either With that being said, a HEALTHU New Day was once the best tag team in the world And they will get a chance to prove me right when they go to AEW and dominate that tag division Nobody in that division has the charisma of a NEW day so theyll immediately stand out

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods decided to leave WWE based on what TKO was offering for a new deal. Their deals were not expiring, but were asked to restructure to TKO deals. The pair didn’t like the deals, so they were then granted their release. (@bryanalvarez, @WONF4W)

Elvis. He was the template for that kind of fame. He sold more albums than MJ (Though MJ did have the biggest selling album of all time, but Elvis has the record for most gold and platinum albums). 50 years after his death and Graceland is still shoulder to shoulder packed. There are Elvis impersonators of every nationality. Elvis was in a silly number of movies and some of them actually didn't suck. He did all that without MTV or a truly global media or the internet (Which to be fair only started to gain traction very late on for MJ). I lived through MJ's fame. Bad was my first album. He was a true phenomenon. I didn't live through Elvis' fame (Excluding a year as a baby), but I still felt the impact (And visited Graceland two years ago so my report on that is based on personal experience). Elvis was the template. Maybe MJ perfected it. But the figures say their fame is either equal or Elvis actually is on top. The other names here make me laugh. It's hard to compare outside of music. Maybe Mohammed Ali. Maybe Pele.

I'm going to have to disagree. Elvis is as big or arguably bigger for a variety of reasons. 1) Album sales, Elvis is estimated to have sold between 500m to a billion albums. MJ is estimated to have sold 400m-500m. Potentially equal, but also potentially Elvis has sold double. 2) The pioneer - Elvis was the template for mainstream musician global superstardom. He did it first. With things like this it can always be said that well, someone would also be first. But Elvis was the one. MJ was treading in his footsteps. 3) Advantage - MJ's success was at a time where there were many advantages to get over as a huge global star. MTV showcased his impressive music videos and there was a more global media in general. There was even early internet around for MJ. Oh and of course, he went solo from an already successful group. He was the lead singer of the group to be fair, but it's still an advantage. Elvis not only didn't have all that, he also went to war in the middle. 4) Graceland is another factor. I know people can't visit Neverland, but I went to Graceland a couple of years ago and the place is packed and it's only really when you are there that you start to realize just how big Elvis was. Elvis has been dead for nearly 50 years and Graceland is still shoulder to shoulder with people wanting to visit the legend. What I will give MJ though is his popularity was truly global. Go somewhere random in the world and MJ would probably have still been mobbed. But that said, there seems to be Elvis impersonators all around the world too. So that's only a slight one. Plus the crowd at Graceland was plenty diverse. You could say Elvis was the template and MJ perfected it. But for me, that puts them both on the same level or at least close enough that it doesn't matters. I was a baby when Elvis died, but I lived through MJ's fame, so I consider my view pretty reasonable here. My first album was "Bad". MJ was a true phenomenon.

From what I heard, they wanted to re-negotiate their contracts (i.e. pay them less) and they weren't having any of it. But I actually don't think there is blame on either side here. They are both 40ish and the team isn't the same without Big E and frankly has long since run its course. They actually didn't want to get rid of them though, knowing they can both help put other younger up and coming talent, but they didn't want to pay them like it's still 2016. But on their side, they probably felt other companies could match what was being offered and would give them a larger role. So why stick around? If they are both heading to retirement soon, why not have a proper last run instead of resign themselves to be glorified enhancement talent. All in all, probably the right move for all parties. Which is more than I can say for some of the other releases. I have no doubt they'll have a good run somewhere and then return to WWE to join the HoF.

@QTRBlackGarrett And directed by the guy that wrote Alien, the comic book often cited as an influence on Blade Runner's aesthetics and helped launch John Carpenter's career with his work on Dark Star. The legendary Dan O'Bannon. The guy deserves a lot of credit. Great design, great movie.

You say that, but I'd wager many of us read it in school. I did. Wasn't a problem. We even watched an old, true-to-story animation of it (From the 50's). I was somewhere from 11-13, it's a long time ago so I can't be precise. But then when I was a small child I was watching things like Watership Down and Plague Dogs. Cartoons were different back then.

I just got out of the new Animal Farm movie, and I am sorry to say Angel Studios has an Abject Disaster on their hands. This is not a movie you want to take your children to see. During the film, it's obvious the filmmakers weren't sure how to navigate deep philosophical ideals while making it appealing to children. They clearly want to capitalize on George Orwell's 1945 story Animal Farm for brand awareness and to drive kids into the theater, but the problem is this is not a children's story. They instead take a satire on the Communist Revolution and turn it into a warning on Capitalism and Consumerism where the actual final message is "True Freedom is working hard for your friends." Like the adapted story they wrote, that statement also makes no sense. The creators would have been better off shedding the Animal Farm name and writing something made for kids from the start... There's not a single part of this that doesn't cause me to think: "Why did no one realize this was a terrible idea". Kids did used to (And maybe still do) read Animal Farm in school. I think I was somewhere in the 11-13 range at the time I read it. Wasn't hard to understand. But it's not something that really transfers to comedic cartoon with fart jokes. Then, you have the corruption of the message and frankly just wholesale plot changes. It was a bad idea, watered down and corrupted. There should have been so many red flags here. For Angel studios not even to check the cast list and go "This doesn't look much like the people that make films we normally support". It's bizarre. This will be Angel Studios "Cutthroat Island".

The Sicks maybe, but Bo Dallas and Nikki Cross still had a lot to offer IMHO. Poor Nikki pretty much just got fed turds ever since her main roster debut and Bo's potential has been wasted since day one. Plus he's 35, she's 37. They aren't too old. The rest of them are all (I think) post 40 and utterly pointless. I don't know why they didn't put some younger guys with the team. I mean the original Wyatt family helped launch Strowman and Wyatt. This helped launch a Universal Halloween Horror funhouse and not much more. Was there ever a point?
