This is brand damage your impersonation has caused Jeriq. You claimed that you registered your name on twitter in 2020, but Jeriq has been on twitter since 2017. This is a classical example of how identity crisis and denialism is causing harm to Ndi Igbo. I am ignoring people like you because you are in minority and irrelevant in the scheme of things.

Igbos in the quote mocking us are funny lol. If a whole group of people have persistently rejected being called Igbo for decades, just let them be. This incessant dragging and shaming because Anioma/Ndokwa folks decline the Igbo label only worsens the relationship that already exists. From celebrities to scholars to everyday people, we've made their choice crystal clear: “We are Ukwuani/Anioma, not Igbo.” We must learn to respect our choice. Forcing it is like forcing an Indian to call himself Pakistani simply because they share some language family and cultural similarities. Language family ≠ ethnicity. Self-identification is what matters. We have chosen not to be igbos, respect our decision.

Read the original post again 👇🏿. Find one 1700s record of light-skinned Ijaw. You won’t. In the 1700s–1800s, neighbouring group was consistently described as “…blacker than the Eboe.” Records were explicit, they stated Igbos were starkly fairer than their neighbors nearer the coast, possessing a “yellow, bilious cast” and “light copper” baseline. So how does a claim of “reddish” emerge today against historical descriptions that already placed you darker than “light copper”? Even into the 1900s, your own sources used terms like “mostly black.” Early records documented that the specific Igbo complexion was the primary marker used to distinguish them from you and other Africans. Your 1900s source is a late guess, a product of genetic influence and lumping. Where is the evidence of a “Red Ijaw” or “Red Yoruba” in the diaspora? There is none. Anuofia.
