@themsaid Note: the test and production image will be largely the same, apart from test tooling and dev dependencies. I’d recommend using Docker’s build targets for this.

@themsaid I’d say use a test image for unit and integration tests as they are rarely dependent on the environment. Run e2e tests using the production image, but not from within the image.

Hey Docker experts, I need your help. In a CD pipeline when you build a container image for production, how do you run the tests? Do you install the testing framework dependencies in the production image and run the tests there or build a separate image for testing?

I hope #PHP will finally support generics in the release after 8.1. The contributors have done such an amazing job bringing more typesafe features into the language. I really hope this trend goes forwards.

Ten years ago, all "hot" languages were dynamically typed. Today, all "hot" languages are typesafe. In ten years, chances are that all "hot" languages will be dynamically typed. I am enjoying the current trends in programming world.
