It is heartening to witness the spirit of sportsmanship at the 1st Inter-Collegiate Staff Badminton Tournament for teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges affiliated with Goa University, held at the Indoor Sports Complex, Ponda, for the academic year 2024-25. Organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports of Ponda Education Society, the event was graced by the presence of Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, the Dean of @GoaGmc, further adding to the enthusiasm and motivation of all participants. Such initiatives promote fitness and well-being among staff members while fostering a culture of camaraderie and teamwork beyond the classroom, inspiring others to embrace sports for a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

The event saw an impressive turnout, with 150 participants in attendance. The workshop featured expert-led sessions on pain management, psychosocial support, and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in pediatric palliative care.

A one-day workshop was successfully conducted at GMC to raise awareness about pediatric palliative care among pediatricians in Goa. The workshop aimed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge & skills necessary to provide compassionate & comprehensive care.

I am delighted to share the remarkable recovery journey of Ajay Khandeparkar, who, despite facing a challenging and unexplained neurological leg pain, discovered renewed hope through the exceptional care provided by Goa Medical College.
