We are tirelessly working towards making women of Goa breast cancer free. Our iBreastExam initiative is providing free of cost screening across centres in North & South Goa. I urge our #NariShakti to get screened against risk of Breast Cancer for #SwasthMahilaSwasthGoa

Empowering women in the fight against breast cancer! We, DHS Goa, under the leadership of Hon HM, Shri Vishwajit Rane, conduct awareness camps and have set up free testing centers statewide. Together, we foster early detection, recognizing symptoms, & ensuring timely screenings.

We are thrilled to announce that we have achieved a significant milestone of 500,000 ABHA IDs in Goa. We extend our sincere appreciation to all stakeholders for their unwavering support. The journey continues as we aim for 1 million – together, we'll make it happen!

A Diabetes camp was organized at Hospicio SGDH and SGPDA Market. The rally was coordinated by Dr. Edward Demello, Vishal Gaonkar (Extension Educator), Pratima Desai (Diabetes Educator), and Dr. Chris Khomarpant.

DHS, in collaboration with South Goa District Hospital, Margao, organized State Level activities for "World Diabetes Day" today. This year's theme is "Know Your Risk, Know Your Response." Hospicio South Goa District Hospital Margao conducted a rally from Hospicio to SGPDA Market.

Additionally, 25 individuals benefited from Abha services, and a refreshing yoga session was conducted by a certified yoga instructor. Anemic patients were provided with deworming tablets and iron medications as part of the holistic healthcare approach.

A comprehensive T3 (Test, Treat, and Talk) camp was conducted as part of the Anemia Mukt Bharat initiative at Ghotnichowhal, Colvale. A total of 122 beneficiaries were served, with screenings including 122 and 10 under PMJAY.

In observance of Cancer Awareness Month, IEC was organised at HWC Assolda under CHC Curchorem. This awareness session aimed to spread awareness about cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention.

If anyone encounters symptoms like unexplained weight loss, persistent pain, or unusual lumps, it is vital to visit the nearest health center or hospital. Early detection can significantly improve the chances of successful treatment and recovery.

National Cancer Awareness Day serves as a crucial reminder of the ongoing battle against cancer. DHS plays a pivotal role in conducting awareness drives, educating people about the early signs & symptoms, and promoting regular screenings like ibreast, regular check-ups etc.

Sub Centre Sirsaim, under the PHC Colvale, organized a dual initiative, a breast screening program & a drive on Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, 50 individuals were registered. Simultaneously, the breast screening campaign was conducted, with 28 women benefiting from it.

To mark Brain Stroke Day, the Non-Communicable Disease Cell organized a Rangoli competition at various Peripheral Health facilities. The primary objective is to raise awareness and promote understanding of stroke, including its prevention, risk factors, and treatment.

Genome sequencing has become an important tool in basic research, translational vaccine and drug development. This facility marks a significant advancement for genomic surveillance & pathogen detection, playing a vital role in our pandemic preparedness & response strategy.

Our commitment to continued screening and raising awareness about breast cancer in Goa remains unwavering.

To reduce the burden of advanced breast cancer in Goa, the Government of Goa initiated the Swasth Mahila Swasth Goa Initiative. Today, we are pleased to have provided free breast cancer screenings to approximately 85,000 women in the state of Goa.
