For those who doubt the extent of the reputational damage inflicted on CPD by progressive lawmakers, let this video serve as Exhibit A. After CPD arrest a man for suspicion of stealing a car, the parent screams and calls CPD "slave catchers." CPD as "slave catchers" originated with progressive activists and lawmakers. This is an utterly false and harmful characterization of CPD. Until lawmakers affirm CPD legitimacy in the public square, and demand residents obey lawful commands from Police, CPD will continue to face the sort of hostility seen here.

Once you realize this everything makes sense… Racism is profitable. Homelessness is profitable. Drug Addicts are profitable. Failing schools are profitable. Career criminals are profitable. And on and on… No problem is ever solved if money can be made from the problem.
