@rmtanca @MattMahanSJ Matt Mahan is on the right track. Sadly in a Democrat super majority state like CA, he has to walk a line of talking about problems but not pointing the finger at who caused the problems (Newsom) or he’ll lose the democrat loyalists.

Sorry, come again: "California has increased spending by 75% in six years. Are your bills 75% cheaper? Are our schools 75% better? No. Because the problem isn’t how much we spend — it’s how we spend it. And I’ll only spend taxpayer dollars on policies that actually make people’s lives better." This is why I find Mahan such and unserious candidate and disingenuous to boot. It's both. The problem is how much we are spending AND how it's being spent. Those who back Mahan, how can you vote for someone who actually thinks the amount of taxes we pay is reasonable? More importantly, how would you actually be able to measure and hold Mahan accountable to "I’ll only spend taxpayer dollars on policies that actually make people’s lives better." This along with so much else he says is not measurable and therefor unaccountable. People are struggling day to day and that is what our new Governor wants to say to them, really?
